What travelers are saying
- Shanee' AMaple Hill, Kansas15 contributionsAbsolutely amazing and over exceeded our expectations! As soon as the side curtains opened it was a whole new experience. Middle seating will be what we go for next time to see the sides better but we were on lower left just a few rows back and still had a great view of everything. The lines for restroom at first we thought were extremely long during intermission but they assured us they would not start again until the line was down. It moved very quickly as there was a lady inside restroom that was helping the flow of traffic. Queen Esther is the one we saw and I can't wait to go back and see more. We had an 8 year old with us that was in awe, the 5 year old had their attention held the first half but not as much the second. Highly suggest going to this if you can. Will definitely be going back.Written September 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TrueflyfishermanIndependence, Missouri, United States4 contributionsIt was a blast. Off season is the time to go because there are no lines to anything. Super fun time. Get their newpaper when you first go in and check the schedule for times the crafters are going to do a presentation so you don't miss it.Written September 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MichiganMelissa04Plymouth, MI851 contributionsThis is such a stunning monument - especially at night with the city lights behind it. We enjoyed the museum inside as well as the tram ride to the top. If you are claustrophobic, the tram ride would not be for you fyi. The views of the city from the top are gorgeous. Highly recommend!Written September 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Shanker BAlpharetta, GA1,225 contributionsWe went here on a Saturday morning. Came in around 10 AM - we were able to park in the compound itself. The museum is just awesome. The caves, slides, the climbing, tree house, roof top, Pinball, etc. We spent around 5 hours here. The only complaint was the poorly managed food joints - they need to organize it better. Kids has an amazing time and so did we. Highly recommended activity in STL.Written August 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Helen F3 contributionsThe Haygoods present an absolutely phenomenal performance. I loved the whole show but my favs were the tap dancing, the harp section, cute hillbilly scenes like riding the cooler etc., and I loved when they take the audience back to your young years growing up. Oh, and the light show at the end was phenomenal. Don’t come to Branson and not the the BEST show in town. You will laugh, be entertained and fulfilled when you leave.Written September 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - The5MRanchCalabasas, CA843 contributionsAmazing way to experience what WWI must have been like. Make sure to read the timeline they have. It's a beautiful property with a great view of the city as well.Written September 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Shanker BAlpharetta, GA1,225 contributionsWe reached the zoo on a Tuesday morning the day after Labor Day. It was fairly empty that day. We entered at around 10 AM and we were there till they closed the park. I think we still didn’t finish all the enclosures. Awesome zoo. So many animals - huge enclosures and wonderful to stroll and enjoy. We had lunch at the Lakeside Cafe - it is pretty decent. We did the train, the VR experience, the string ray experience which were part of the Adventure band. They did not have the Sea Lion Show and Bird Shows - those end in August. If you love animals. You will have a fantastic experience at this zoo. My kids aged 13 and 6 had a whale of a time. Highly recommended.Written September 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jeanalyonEast Freetown, MA100 contributionsThis museum is good for adults and kids. We did the normal audio tour. This is also a very sad historical event so it would be strange to say we had fun. But it was very informative, very well put together, and there were docents throughout who were knowledgeable and friendly. The whole city of Branson is more or less a tourist trap but this is a great stop for history or sinking-ship buffs.Written July 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MichiganMelissa04Plymouth, MI851 contributionsWhat a beautiful place. I can only imagine how wonderful it would be to see the daylilies, irises, and roses in bloom! We were fortunate to see a wide array of the water lilies blooming. Beauty abounds here, and the gift shop is delightful. Highly recommend a visit.Written September 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Karyn WKansas City, MO1,649 contributionsMy family loves the Nelson, while admission is free, we've been members for many years, to support what they do.
It has a large indoor space with art from across history. I like the Bloch galleries and the Asian art, but the Egyptian art is cool as well. There are painting, sculptures, ceramics, metal pieces and wood pieces.
Outdoors has more modern art with the famous shuttlecocks, a maze you can walk through, plus there is an art themed mini golf course which is fun.
The museum is free but their temporary exhibits typically cost money, unless you're a member. They are always well done.
They have lots of events through the year from art classes (for kids and adults), celebrations of deaf culture, Indian culture, Day of the Dead celebration, and more.
Their Rozelle Court restaurant has good food, but more so the room it's in is gorgeous.
I like their gift shop as well, over the years I have gotten several things from it.
There is a coffee shop as well on the second level and you can walk out to the reflecting pool from there too.
It's a beautiful building with a wonderful collection.Written September 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CrazySpitiSaint Paul, MN165 contributionsThis was a fun little leg stretch on our quick visit to St Louis. Be sure to stop by the Ulysses Grant Historic Home located across the street, which is free/no parking fee.
After parking, guests take a short tram ride to the petting zoo. During the ride, a guide points out the elks, geese, water buffalo, deer and a few other animals roaming in the forested-area.
The baby goats were the first animals we encountered after leaving the tram. Kids could bottle feed the goats and it was a fun attraction! There were beautiful peacocks walking around the petting zoo (the property has approximately 25 peacocks!
At the far end of the zoo, there is a large German food courtyard. The Busch family owns the property and has a deep love for animals. On our way out, we stopped by the stables next to the parking lot to see the beautiful Clydesdales horses. The stables closed at 5 pm on Fridays but we had a nice view of the horses from the fence. This is a family-friendly experience for youngsters!Written August 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
