I love learning about historic sites and this activity did not disappoint. You have a guided tour of the main house which consists of 9 rooms, and a library. A self guided tour of the gardens and then finish up with a stroll through the museum in the second floor of the visitor center. The guide was very informative about the artifacts and the house, and the museum is informative about everything else! Money well spent!

Not exactly a ghost town, but there are a few abandoned buildings from back in the day. A visit lasts less than one hour. The best road to it is from just north of the Lorman store. The one from Alcorn Univ is more dodgy.

We had an absolute blast here. Yes the dolphin and seal shows are too short. However we absolutely enjoyed the stingrays! My son didn't want to leave. He was having a blast. We spent about 3.5 hours here and I'm guessing we were in the spring ray tanks for about 2 of those hours. Such fun. Great to see the animals being taken care of. It is a very small aquarium and you could probably be out within 2 hours. So if looking for an all day place... This isn't for you.

The visitor's center has many interesting exhibits. It is right across the street from the lighthouse.

Compelling must visit for every American!
This museum is more impactful than the National African American Museum in DC. Well laid out, terrific movies, audios and graphic displays about slavery and the fight for civil rights over centuries. With the possible exception of the Holocaust museum in DC, this is the most inspiring and compelling museum I have ever visited. If you are anywhere near Jackson you MUST Visit.

We did not get in the water. Lots of others were though and seemed to be having a good time. We just walked on the beach and enjoyed the scenery.

An unfinished antebellum plantation that has set mostly empty since the Civil War—something different in the usual tour of POSH plantation homes. A knowledgeable guide made the tour specil

We had a great time. It's not very big, but its FULL of things to see, espin the aquarium area. Lots of fish and turtles. Snakes, and baby alligators. The outdoor area is nicely kept with trails and boardwalks. Price was great. $20 for 1 adult and 2 kids. The girls especially enjoyed digging for fossils. There were lots of staff that were very knowledgeable and helpful and full of information and we learned a lot. We then visited the park outside and it's amazing.

Very peaceful drive, along with being beautiful. The best part is that only cars are allowed on it — commercial vehicles can’t be on it.

Sad that there are not more places to pull off the road and explore the various monuments. If you have another car behind you, there really is not anything you can do but drive through. Wish the Cairo Museum had been open

5 stars for the little zoo that could. There were a couple animal exhibits that were great - we got very close to the beautiful black jaguar, capybara, and fat alligators! But the other exhibits seemed lacking. We didn't visit the wallabys so give that one benefit of the doubt. I was really looking forward to the blue hyacinth macaws but having a chain link fence in your face takes away from their magnificence. I've seen them open-air at other zoos and it's a stunning site! The train ride I hate to say was disappointing. About 6 minutes long and there's just not much to see. The splash pad area with rentable cabanas is such a great idea. I thought the cabana rental was high but if you have enough in your group and it's somewhat a special occasion, then it could be worth it to rent. My 4 year old son's favorite activity was crawling into the tunnels with other kids at the groundhog hill lol. Overall the zoo seemed well cared for and admission is very reasonable. I wouldn't make a special trip to Hattiesburg just for the zoo; however I'd definitely visit again if in the area.

Yes, the casino and hotel is outdated, but that's what I like about it. It's a nostalgic trip to my earlier years. I didn't have a problem with cleanliness like others have stated, though one trashcan in the room is kind of strange. Staff was very friendly, helpful and pleasant. Slots are tight, at least for me, but my wife did hit for 2 hand pays. all was great! best NY strip steak I ever had at binions, but pricey! one thing I did not like was the lack of transportation to memphis or anywhere outside the casino area. use lyft from the hotel to graceland, uber never has a driver in the area(approx. 50$ one way to graceland) there is nothing around the casino and I mean absolutely nothing. ask the front desk for a coffee pot if you don't have one, they were more than happy to provide one. all in all a wonderful trip!

Our family was staying in Gulf Shores, AL for Spring Break, and we decided to take a trip over to Mississippi since we were so close. Our original plan didn't work out because of wind advisory, but we stopped here to take a look at this light house. Knowing the history makes this even more special.

Be aware though, it is placed right in the middle of a divided highway. You aren't allowed to go in it--but you can park across the street from it on the beach side.

It was a nice place to stop, take a beautiful photo and be feet from the beach. We also got to watch some military planes fly overhead while we visited also. Our boys loved it.

The site is less than 2 miles from I-22 so we made a quick stop, spent about 15 minutes there. We did not have time to tour the museum so we did not pay admission and only walked around outside. We saw the exteriors of the shotgun house, the church that has been moved to the site, and the museum; and saw an old Plymouth. We were able to enter the memorial chapel. We saw several plaques about Elvis and some interesting quotes from his childhood friends.
