- andygcc87Amherst, OH62 contributionsBeing midweek post Labor Day parking was free and “beachside” spaces were plentiful. The water is crystal clear and buoys mark a swimming area although no lifeguards were on duty. I’m not sure if there are any between Memorial and Labor days. There may be a fee for parking during summer months but I cannot verify. There is a “guard” shack near the entrance which was vacant but may be occupied other times. There is a centralized building with showers and flush toilets. Porta potty’s are at extreme ends of the parking lots. There are about a dozen park style charcoal grills south of the largest parking lots. Those picnic areas appear to be first come first served. Some of those spots have picnic tables and some just have a lonely grill.Written September 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MindyLouisville, KY190 contributionsHad planned on doing some hard core hiking, but we were unfamiliar with the area and ended up here by accident…very glad we did! Minimal people and great view so we decided to stay for sunset which was absolutely beautiful. Also, met a very friendly and informative local that gave us some great recommendations…thanks Joan!! Very happy that we stumbled on this place.Written December 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Little Homeschool Blessings447 contributionsOur favorite time to visit is when there are no cars in the parking lot and it is windy and cold. The water is higher and completely covers the rocks. It is like a sand only beach. It is really cool to have the whole beach to yourself as well. When the lake is less choppy, it goes down to where there are layers of rocks on the beach before and into the water. These make for great skipping rocks. There are some beautiful rocks along the beach. Remember this is a National Park and you aren’t allowed to gather them (while we were there a couple had bags they were collecting rocks in (not sure if they don’t know the rule or don’t care), but the rocks are lovely to look at. A park pass is required. A week park pass for the park is currently $25. To find follow directions to the campground until you get to the spot where it v's off and go to the right. There is a small parking lot there.Written July 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
