- Harper BaldwinDetroit, MI9 contributionsI felt the soul of music at the Motown Museum. Walking through these legendary doors, I was transported to an era of innovation and creativity. The guides' passion is infectious - I felt like I was reliving history. Standing in Studio A, where icons like Stevie Wonder and The Supremes recorded, gave me chills. This place isn't just a museum - it's a testament to the power of music. I left with a full heart and a renewed love for the Motown sound.Written October 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mfg1Los Angeles, CA16 contributionsWe stopped at the Gardens and Sculpture Park on our way to Saugatuck for a few nights and absolutely loved it! Taking the tram gives you a great overview of the park, but make sure to leave enough time to explore the Japanese Gardens and other hidden areas of the park (not seen by the tram) on your own. A stunning place with interesting art -- highly recommend!!!!Written October 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Emily MUnited States1,380 contributionsLots to see in the park and many places to visit. We did the short hike to the waterfall by the visitors center and went to Miner's Castle. We were glad we did as we later did a boat ride and it was nice to have seen that area from both the land and the lake.Written October 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - diamondgirlMichiganFenton144 contributionsSo much to see at this wonderful museum. We loved seeing paintings from Van Gogh, Renoir, Mary Cassat,Degas as well as Rembrandt and other Dutch Masters. I always enjoy the Egyptian exhibits as well as exquisite Greek and Roman ceramics. The Diego Rivera mural is breathtaking, and we had fun watching an art class drawing a model dressed in black against a vivid yellow background. How lucky we are to have such a great museum here in Detroit.Written October 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John HDallas, TX378 contributionsLocated right next to the Henry Ford museum this amazing park like area is a great way to spend a day. Enjoy a lengthy steam train ride, being driven around town in a Model T or horse drawn carriage or get dizzy on an antique carousel. A number of snack areas and a large Tavern restaurant with period costume servers.
Lots to do here for the entire family. Lots of walking so wear sturdy shoes.Written September 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The amazing pictures you see are real. The boys of the sky and water are unbelievable!
The hiking is great! Through the woods, across the meadows, up the hills, down the dunes, along the lakeshore… I wish I was still there wandering through the Park.
I highly recommend the Guide Along app.Written October 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was like a step down from being at Disney or Niagara Falls or something! Big sign over the entrance, wide paved walks to the falls views. The falls were cool, but not "pack the parking lot" full. The gift shop was mediocre, and there was a line for ice cream, which was one of few food options. Kind of strange for a place with this many people.Written October 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Linda BRadcliff, KY99 contributionsThis is a beautiful sight to see. Wear comfortable shoes it is 207 steps to get to the Arch and do take pictures. - cjwjs3 contributionsWe did the 11 am Guided Historic Building and Tunnel tour. We especially liked that our tour guide, Catherine, grew up near the Asylum, and she shared her knowledge, memories and stories of the people housed there, history of the different buildings, and we were able to explore one of the “cottages” on our own. It was very interesting and highly recommend.Written October 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kelly S5 contributionsDowntown ballpark walking distance from many hotels with lots of character, great views of the downtown and very good atmosphere. My husband was concerned about our safety until we got there. Heard stories about Detroit but was not concerned at all once we saw where the venue was and the amount of people Coming and going from the park. This appears from an outsider to be a very safe part of the city. There are always going to be people outside of these parks hitting you up for donations and things of that nature. Just ignore them and keep moving which is what most people do. Very unique ballpark with lots of niche areas to get food and hang out. We sat in an area that was called the tiger Den as I recall! These are old school seats that are like going to the ball park in the 20s. They resemble wooden chairs with coushions and tables and you’re not crammed in next to people. There was even a carousel in the food court for the kids. Which was a really neat touch. Overall top 5 or 6 of all the parks we have been to excluding the outside the park amenitiesWritten August 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
