Taking the beer tour was definitely an interesting way to see the Freedom Trail, and learn the history of some of the bars along the trail.
We had so much fun in our small group, had great experiences with each bar and beer, and we learned new info about Boston's vast history and beer.
4 Ways to experience it
Really cool looking bar area, AWESOME drinks (learned they also hand press all juices there as well), and a really sweet area where you can have private parties surrounded by bourbon barrels.
Tasting was fun and the bar busy.
Regina's Pizza was the best of the 3 and the bar we visited was a cool piece of history to sit in.
Our first stop was to Modern Pastry- who knew they had a basement done over with pizza and a bar?

Improv Asylum Boston
The 'asylum' itself is really nice space and has a great bar area where you can grab a drink and chat before/after the show.
The neighborhood - the North End - was great, full of restaurants, bars, pastry shops and other interesting places.
Deservedly popular and with a well stocked bar, it also offers live music some evenings.

Phil, the son of the current owner who inherited the club from "Wally", was exceptionally nice and friendly.
The 'Comber has it all - great food, great bar, and superb location on a beautiful outer cape beach.
The Beachcomber is a hopping casual place featuring a full range of beach fare from fish sandwiches to lobster rolls; from a raw bar to fresh seafood entrees.
Or, there is a small bar inside and an area set aside for merchandise display.
This place is AMAZING!! very upscale, nice bar area, great bartenders who are tons of fun!!! and at a place that is way cool!!
From the staff at the welcome desk through to the bar-tender, everyone was cheerful, helpful and just attentive enough not to be bothersome.
From the perfect cocktail bar to the intimate performance area (The library) this show was a home run.
As others have mentioned there is a cash bar, and you're provided place holders to reserve your seating, so it pays to show up when they first open the room to get closer to the action.
Club Passim Cambridge
Especially enjoyed musical tributes to Bob Dylan, David Bowie, and Leonard Cohen.. Club Passim also hosts annual Celtic Festival and "Campfires" (3-day weekends of music, 12-11 pm).
Food and bar service was friendly and responsive.

My first US bar and I loved it, great atmosphere, good selection of beers and a plate of wings so crispy and spicy yet super succulent ... I wish this was my local... so I could watch the Red Sox all day.

The bar staff are great and overall vibe is fun.
The upper two decks hug the dance floor and also have bars and great views of the stage and first floor.
We always eat first at the Foundation Room, which gives you access to coat check, the bar before and after the show, and reduces the worry of arriving late etc.
