This is an amazing gem of a place well worth your trip to see! Everything about it was fascinating, including the very knowledgeable curator who spent so much time talking with us!
We also appreciated the historical context of the different eras and geographies represented, even learning some new facts about the history of our state (California) as well as Kentucky history.

We enjoy the in house art museum with continuously rotating art displays, the in house restaurant, Proof on Main, is always delicious, and the over all eclectic vibe of the hotel is delightful.
Note: The bartenders are also artists in their own right, creatively concocting cocktails showcasing local liquor distilleries.
The museum in the main administrative building is also top notch, with immersive displays about 18th century surveying, the early development of Kentucky, and daily life on a large plantation.
A well run historic tour, museum, and gift shop are part of the experience, as well as a great picnic area and gardens/grounds to explore- weather permitting.

I visited the John Audubon Museum and park on the north side of Henderson, KY several times now and it's really a wonderful place to relax, walk on their hiking/walking trails or just browse thru their lovely museum.
It captures his life as an artist and naturalist and when you're finished you can get out into the western Kentucky woodlands that provided Audubon some of his inspiration in the early 19th century.
There is a museum room with antique candy making equipment, Rebecca Ruth artifacts, family photos and memorabilia.
We took the 30 minute tour - Toree was our tour guide - very knowledgeable and entertaining!
