Okay, so this was my first time doing this adventure. I heard great things!
First, the kayaking in for me, took some getting used to. It was only my second time kayaking, but this river is so calm it made it a lot easier to get the hang of it. It is all beauty 100% of the time. Everything around you is picture worthy.
Next is the hike. The hike in is like no other I have been on. At first, you feel like you need a machete, completely surrounded by vegetation. STAY WITH YOUR GROUP! It could be very easy to get separated if you aren't paying attention. It almost happened to me.
Again, EVERYTHING around you is picture worthy. And the scent from the flowers! OMG! I thought it was somebodys lotion. Unreal.
And then.....the waterfall! Beautiful, but it was smaller than I thought. In my imagination I saw a big, noisy rushing white fall. Nope. No quite.
I think it was the time of the year? Idk.
Anyhoo, still worth it. Then you hike back out and kayak back to the dock. I enjoyed the trip back more than the trip in, probably because I knew what was ahead.
I recommend watershoes
I recommend a change of clothes at your car, YOU ARE GOING TO GET WET
I recommend you tip your guide, they work very hard and our guide Annie Holstein was freaking awesome, with knowledge and jokes.
BTW, I did not take pictures because I was in the moment, but people even brought drones, which I thought was a bit over the top, but you might not!
