What travelers are saying
- Lee HSpring Valley, NY61 contributionsThe place is amazing, we spend the entire day there and just about covered everything, the staff is amazing and very knowledgeable explaining in detail the exhibits, a true step back in time.
On a personal note, I came across the Greda III tender not knowing it was there, I happen friends with some of the descendants of the rescued persons so there was a personal connection there.Written September 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Even the shop was nice and had a wide variety of books, jewelry, and knickknacks.Written September 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wesley C11 contributionsI stayed in the Peqout tower from 8/10-8/17/2024 as I was attending the National Association of Postal Supervisors Convention. I found the room clean and spacious and I had room for a weeks worth of clothing as there was plenty of storage space. Housekeeping kept the room spotless and I had an enjoyable stay. The only complaint I have is the casual restaurants located in the hotel and in Tanger Outlets which was adjacent to the hotel were not staffed adequately. This led to long lines and delays. If the organization decides to have a convention there again I would be more that willing to attendWritten August 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Evan PBaltimore, MD91 contributionsThe price is a little steep. It doesn’t take very long to get through but the displays are very attractive. The outdoor setting of the aquarium is unique and very cool. The sea lion show is included with admission! It’s a must see. Kids will enjoy the exhibits where they can touch the animals.Written August 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jane PRegion of Waterloo, Canada503 contributionsNice shopping mall with some unusual stores. Convenient free parking. Ice cream & restaurants. Because it is all shopping, I would not recommend bringing children or dogs.Written July 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Leem921North River, NY58 contributionsThis is a must see if you are wishing 90 minutes of Lyme, CT. Lyme is a beautiful town in its own right. But Gillette Castle so far exceeded my expectations! We spent about an hour on the grounds and an hour in the house. The woodwork, design, cool devices, and layout - inside and out - are fascinating and amazing. The staff and docents were super nice and knowledgable. And the views of the Connecticut River - spectacular! A couple tips: inside tours sell out fast - get your tickets ahead of time online. The grill was closed on Labor Day, so there was no food around. And take the Ferry one way of the other - coming or going - Just follow the Historic Ferry signs. It's fun and a good way to see the house from the water.Written September 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tara Q37 contributionsLet me tell you! You need to go - it’s like walking in curious and leaving inspired. The atmosphere is intimate and the performance is pure art and story telling with a sensual build up and satisfying ending! - Loren WProvidence, RI22 contributionsNice casino, but it's a bit dull, and it's very easy to get lost, and it's very dim. - UpstateNY518Ballston Lake, NY46 contributionsWow.. There is alot to see and you can go in the submarine.
Thought this would be a lame 45 minute maximum stop, and we were there for hours. Could have stayed longer, but we got hungry. There is a 50 minute movie, other videos, lots of displays.
Could have done without the 1920's video playing non-stop. It echoed throughout much of the display area.
Open sub was great, because there were only a handful of people there on the Monday when we went. Would have enjoyed less if it was crowded (very confining).Written September 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Mark B1 contributionWanted to do this for a long time. The 45 min tour of nearly 25 individual islands known as the Thimble Islands was excellent. Captain George was personable, informative, a little funny and kept us all interested with the facts about each island, the homes, the residents, the historical background of these beautiful pieces of land just offshore in Branford CT. I would do this again in a minute.Written September 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
