Yampa River Botanic Park Steamboat Springs
Gardening is love (time, energy, and thoughtfulness) and clearly the volunteers have created gardens that exhibit a wide range of perennials and annuals thriving in an especially challenging mountain environment.
We wandered through gardens of such variety and beauty and enjoyed amazing water features, all in the midst of beautiful, mature trees.
Amazing ski resort, good slopes, some are hard other easy, the resort is a good challenge for something different, I got a blast in this place highly recommended for skiers and snowboarders.
The ski school is world class with terrain and patient, top notch instructors to match every level of student Overall costs are a bit higher than at other Colorado resorts (with the exception of Vail, which is the...
Sure, there are beginner trails at Highlands, but this is really the mountain for expert skiers and tons of double-black and expert-only terrain.
Gorgeous views and great skiing - perfect for intermediate and advanced skiers
Aspen Snowmass Snowmass Village
We also enrolled in ski school and found the customer support for ski school to be excellent, friendly and helpful and we loved our ski instructor (Lara) who was outstanding, fun and talented and helped all of us...

Have skied all over the West and despite all the other big name glamorous resorts, will return here simply because of the relaxed and super friendly staff.
Ski Cooper Leadville
I have skied at some of the other resorts in CO but Ski Copper is definitely a favorite because of the location, absolute gorgeous scenery, short lift lines, uncrowded wide and long runs, and the friendliness and...
Great place for spring skiing and you can always find a stash on a powder day (although, powder days are better on blacks and double blacks, and Ski Cooper is definitely blue).
We absolutely loved this experience of exploring the town of Aspen with great shopping, excellent dining options and boarding the gondola to access the ski slopes from the main street.
However, on a beautiful day, the Aspen gondola ride is right up there with any of them due to the views it provides of Aspen on the way up, and the beautiful 360 views provided at the summit.
She improved everyone's skiing from beginner to intermediate and even our snow boarder, Loved every minute of Buttermilk and one of the days was Chocolate Day!
So many variable to amuse even our extreme-skier son, and capped off by best wokfest@ top of mountain CliffHouse with possibly best vista of Maroon Bells and beyond, even scope to The Highlands ski area, the whole...
Its a skifield that suits strong / expert skiers but if you're a strong intermediate skier, you will still have a great day's skiing.
There is plenty of above the tree-line skiing which is quite interesting for east coasters (remember the altitude and rest and drink plenty of fluids).
... tickets, food, drinks, parking), impeccable snow, lots of varied terrain to explore, and probably one of the friendliest and most authentic staff at any ski mountain Ive experienced in over 35 years of skiing.
The food is all made fresh and delicious, the people are great (employees and skiers), the lifts are great and feel safe, the ski school is great, the amount of snow (even in a drought) is great, storing your equi...
The skiing and snow is as good as anywhere or better, the staff is friendly, food at the lodge is great, and the nearby accomodations down the mountain in Maysville at Creekside Chalets are perfect.
There are cool and challenging runs under the lifts, some great trees to explore, and there are also quite a few beginner slopes and some nice groomed ones to speed down!

With a beginner the choice of two places to base ourselves meant we were away from the experts and challenging slopes and comfortable with a much smaller set up with beginner and easy intermediate slopes.
Great snow, good food, fun area with a surprising amount varied terrain, good for both beginner and expert skiers and riders
We’ve bike from Vail pass, gone white water rafting, took a Segway tour, and rode gondola up Vail Mountain for spectacular views and a fun activity center with zip lines, tubing, rope courses and a mountain coaster.
It depends on the day, the period of visit,, the snow, the company, but Vail has the great ingredients: huge ski area, variety, challenge a plenty, nice town, friendly service, great organisation, and often great...

Breathtaking views, close to skiing in winter and great hikes in the summer, this place was the perfect spot to start every day with our three children all under six years.
Skiing, Wild Flowers, Fourth of July and The Art in the splendor of the Mountain colors make Winter, Spring, Summer, and the Fall spectacular spell out anytime you can plan to get there!!
The views were breathless (just like me when I hiked back up the trail to get back on the chairlift for the ride down) and the serious hikers were going further up the mountain towards the summit.
The adventure park has a lot to do for children, they have the big balls you climb inside and run around, a beginner ski slope for skiing and snow boarding, and the snow tubing hills.
Also for reference, there’s a great sledding hill in the same complex just across the parking lot from the tubing hill (and it’s free!)...still worth tubing though, those hills are deceptive, you end up going pret...
Steamboat Gondola Steamboat Springs
Enjoy a mile hike around a nature trail at the top of the mountain before heading to the happy hour and walk among the beautiful trails and maybe see some wildlife like deer and elk.
This is a top-quality gondola to a gorgeous ski lodge atop the mountain, with lots of hiking and biking trails for off-winter visits.

They also have a terrific number of summer activities including music in the mountains directed by world renown conductor Guillermo Figueroa, a zip line and a new summer mountain ride.

Blue River Sports Breckenridge
While there are other places to get skis in Breck, do yourself a favor and get your Ski equipment from Blue River Sports (or if Snowboarding is your thing, Mountain Wave which is right next door)
Andy and the gang did a bang up job on the equipment for my snowboarding boys, all top notch equipment and in the best shape.
This resort is a hidden gem! HIGHLY recommend this place for families and beginner to intermediate skiers!
We rented our skis from Epic sports in Winter Park on our drive in for a very reasonable rate (free kids equipment with every adult rental, buy 3 days, get 1 day free, etc).
What fun! Super easy to learn if you are already a skier as the methods used are very similar.
Make sure the guys wax your snow bikes' skis when you get outfitted.
... delivered an amazing high alpine skiing experience, year after year: if you can handle the altitude and ski steep backcountry terrain, this should be on your list for any ski trip to Southwest Colorado!
The drawback of choosing the guided tour (which is the only option for most of the season), is that you will have to contend with the likelihood that other skiers in the group will be faster/fitter/gnarlier than y...
Howelsen Hill Ski Area Steamboat Springs
The ski free Sunday's are a great way for local families to come out and enjoy the beauty and history this great town has to offer and for first-time skiiers like me to enjoy the sport without breaking the bank!
Each year their winter carnival gets better it is also a fun time to watch weekly jumping on Wednesday nights the new tubing is also fun and convent
When done with skiing for the day, the mountain house is wonderful for drinks etc. Sandwiches a little pricey but who cares when you're on vacation.
He took us all over the mountain, teaching us how to handle every terrain and helping us develop safe and controlled skills.
Mount Werner Steamboat Springs
We came to ski in 1986 in February and found the best ski area ever as it snowed every night and sunshine every day--had to dig our car out 3 times!! Fabulous skiing with our two children in 1st and 3rd grades and...
Mount Werner is one of the best ski areas I have ever visited, with normally a huge amount of powder snow.
