- Travel_ExpertSan Antonio, TX79 contributionsBeautiful warship and nice park. Didn't enter but great views from outside the park, plus it saves you some money. A must-visit when in Mobile.Written December 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Chris W7 contributionsIf you ride motorcycles or love motorsport and are visiting Alabama, I really recommend this museum. It’s huge, new and really well laid out. The number and variety of bikes was just incredible - and they are all presented in immaculate condition (allowing for a couple that had been ridden around the world!). There are many important race cars too and a real surprise for a visitor from the U.K. at the end - the original psychedelic Rolls Royce used by the Beatles!Written February 10, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ETraveler154 contributionsAn absolute treasure! The birding and wildlife are amazing and in abundance. Alabama has done an incredible job in preserving and protecting this park as well as maintaining the trails so everyone can enjoy them.Written March 16, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - _SLH138_Minneapolis, MN162 contributionsWe visited the BCRI in the afternoon after taking the Red Clay civil rights tour. The activities complemented each other perfectly. The BCRI exhibits are thoughtfully curated and very engaging. We were really glad we visited.Written February 16, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jackiegodlockForest City, NC207 contributionsThe wharf is a unique event experience with entertainment, restaurants, and shopping, most places are unique to the area. The one thing we did discover was the prices seem to be higher than the norm.Written December 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LexiVCleveland, OH1,740 contributionsThis was a really fun stop. The tower with the statue offered amazing views of Birmingham and can be reached by stairs or elevator. The small museum was very informative. It had a scavenger hunt for kids and there was also a well-priced gift shop, clean bathrooms, and water fountains inside that building. However, don't do the trail later in the day. When we left, the gates to the trail were open, but they were closed at our return (maybe half an hour to 45 minutes later). We had to hop over two different gates to get back to our car. Other than that, we had a great time and admission is free if you're on SNAP (food stamps).Written December 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Christina P3 contributionsThe exhibits were plentiful and in good condition. I had kids ages 16 to 4, and all had fun. We enjoyed all the hands on nature of things.Written January 7, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Melissa F10 contributionsAwesome adventure. Who would have thought so much to do. If you love outdoors and nature visiting this area is a go to must. We will return in the fall with the older grands so they can enjoy some awesome hikes and sceneryWritten July 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - _SLH138_Minneapolis, MN162 contributionsWe visited the three Legacy sites (museum, memorial, sculpture park--in that order) and it is difficult to describe how powerful the experience was. The museum exhibits are incredibly engaging and the theater videos are excellent. The memorial is stunning and sobering. The sculpture park is beautiful and heart-breaking.
All three sites are meticulously maintained and the staff, including the numerous security personnel, were very welcoming. Every employee we passed greeted us with, "Thank you for coming." Free parking is available at all three sites, or visitors may use the complimentary shuttle between sites. We used the shuttle from the museum to the memorial and back. We had planned to ride the complimentary boat from the museum to the sculpture park, but it was not operating due to flood conditions in the river.
There is a lot to see at these sites. We spent the entire morning at the museum and memorial, took a break for lunch, and then spent well over an hour at the sculpture park.Written February 17, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Don’t worry, though, because they’re beautiful and the whole place is very well maintained. You’ll definitely get your steps in on this visit. - Dreamer410689735101 contributionWe absolutely loved our tour and the Cavern! Our tour guide Phoenix was very informative and entertaining. He was so patient, engaged with the group and answered all questions. The cavern is around 60 degrees, has beautiful and active formations with pools and a river. My grandson wanted to see shark teeth and my grand daughter wanted to see bats and they both saw them and so much more and they wanted to do it again!Written January 4, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Donnamc4065Oakland, TN19 contributionsThis place was awesome! We went with our daughter and her husband and their three children (7, 4, and almost 3) and we ALL thoroughly enjoyed our hour there. (We got there at 3 and it closed at 4.) My Marine husband loved all the memorabilia. The kids loved the helmets and rifles and flak vests they could try on for pictures and also all the tanks and helicopters and other vehicles and war equipment. I loved the fact that they clothes and things actually were donated by the people who were in the services and had real photographs. There were all kinds of wonderful l dioramas of battles from all wars made by individuals. And the veterans working there were the real deal and so kind. Go if you can! And they are about to double their facilities!Written March 20, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
