- Jacqui H3 contributionsTake a short boat trip to Tavira Island to a fabulous quiet beach with gorgeous soft white sand! Just Perfect!!!Written February 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Judith PDiss, UK17 contributionsWe love this beach. Love the walk over the river. Love the little train ride and the very interesting anchor graveyard. The beach is long, spotlessly clean with beautiful soft sand. There are some nice little restaurants, a gift shop and museum.Written March 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CJHJ1Grimsby, Canada3 contributionsFantastic beeches and great bistro restaurants. Inexpensive water taxis to the beech that run all day. Excellent bakeries and a great little supermarket. - gddikLlanfairfechan11 contributionsSeeing a real-time view over the town, with informative commentary by the guide, was something very different. We were the only people in the camera obscura when we visited, although more people were arriving as we left. We tried to book online, but it wasn't available, so we just turned up after visiting the Igreja da Misericordia, which is adjacent. The visit was very cheap at just 4 Euros each, and excellent value.Written December 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tinkle_24Northampton, UK1,594 contributionsIf there hadn’t been an endless stream of tourists, the castle and its gardens could be a place of great tranquility. Views of roof tops and the river were good.Written February 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- tinkle_24Northampton, UK1,594 contributionspics best taken from either bank of the river. Sturdy and wide enough to accommodate lots of people. - 05LenaSanta Monica, CA6 contributionsWe went here and didn’t really know what to expect, but we really enjoyed this short but informative trip. - Stuart B4 contributionsWe had a wonderful time (around 90 minutes) playing with the exhibits and tests; our guide Maria was terrific at engaging our daughter (age three and a half) and spoke brilliant English (although I did try some Portuguese!)
Lots of fun and thoroughly recommended for young children to get out of the heat and learn about some of the science behind the displays.Written July 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rob AOlhao, Portugal803 contributionsWe went to a concert here and it was pretty crowded. The interior decoration is worth seeing - is it baroque? The paintings are huge and some were a bit ropey. The statue above the high altar of St Sebastian is rather odd - the left arm seems wholly out of proportion. But is one is interested in Portuguese ecclesiastical architecture and the art these buildings contain, then this is a must.
I have to confess I want to know how one gets into the pulpit - perhaps a secret passage leads there from the sacristy.Written February 23, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - istrianOxford, UK20 contributionsTo be fair I havent actually been here but I feel that we were all over the area around it trying to find it. It proved beyond our navigational skills I'm afraid despite several conflicting signs. So beware.Written September 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
