- Michaela K3,542 contributionsIt's a very nice, small town with a lovely castle and nice restaurants and shops. It's got beautiful views and it's worth to go there for a little tripWritten March 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AnitaTurnov, Czech Republic44 contributionsReally nice hike. If u ll’ take ur time and stop to see the views, it takes more or less 40 minutes to reach the top. Suitable for kids as well. There is a very nice view with benches in top. The monuments themself are closed for the public.Written August 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Petra2 contributionsVery nice view from there to the whole city. Unfortunately the castle itself was closed, so we took pictures only from the base of the fort. Maybe because it was Monday...Written September 17, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

How to Visit Cemetery and Synagogue

We took a fabulous tour of the synagogue and cemetery in Mikulov with Barbara Hauserova, a guide with the Society of Friends of Jewish Culture in Mikulov. The Society helps visitors understand the deep Jewish history of this town. Formerly called Nikolsburg, it was once a major center of Jewish culture in the 1800s. Barbara spent close to three hours with us, and in excellent English explained so much about a world long gone but still visible in the beauty of the synagogue (meticulously restored) and the sprawling cemetery with stones going back hundreds of years, including those of famous rabbis such as the former chief rabbi of Moravia, Mordechai Benet.Written July 6, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - chimayredDurham, NH2,557 contributionsas I said in another reivew (Trebic) another Czech town, another jewish cemetery. This one though seemed to be just part of the life thread of Mikulov; not a memorial to the devastation of the Holocaust but just a real cemetery and final resting place of the Jewish citizens of Mikulov. A bit overgrown, some of the gravestones are rather precariously tilted so I wouldn't let a toddler run around in here. but a fascinating slice of jewish history in a beautiful Czech village.Written September 5, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kamila N1 contributionI really recommend going upstairs with a glass of wine that you can buy at the entrance from very sweet owner and enjoy the amazing view of the whole city of Mikulov and the surrounding nature! Will definitely visit again when in town!Written May 5, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
