Vilnius has quite a bit of Jewish symbols and the local government has tried to commemorate the history of the Jewish community, that comprised almost 40 oercent of the population. However, like in Latvia, they are trying to minimize their own people participation and collaboration with the Nazi regime in exterminating the Jews and taking over their property in the most violent manner. This museum will show you - although partially - what happened. Therefore, it is an important place to visit.

Dating from the 14th century and first mentioned in 1387, we happened upon this little church on our Old Town wanderings and it has stuck with me. Maybe it is that it is the oldest Catholic Church in Lithuania. Maybe it’s that the simple, Gothic brick exterior says “old” to me and speaks of generations and centuries long past. Maybe it is the quiet, unpretentious dignity of the sanctuary. Maybe it’s the statue of St. Christopher, patron saint of Vilnius, erected in 1959, perhaps as an act of resistance to the Soviets. I’m not sure, but the memory of what I think of as a “pocket church" leaps toward the front as I think back on our time in Vilnius.

We had a huge celebrity: four friends have birthdays on December, so we decided to have big celebration toghether.
We had cheese tasting here, lovely woman (sorry forgot the name) told us about all kinds of cheese that are produced there. I loved goat cheese :)))) and the hot one with fantastic home made bread.
After that we had fantastic lunch: dummy steak with parsnips, carrot puree.
For the dessert - pie with levander, pumpkin ice cream and cranberries souce.
Perfect - the place is warm, you can talk to a chef, play, read books with your child - perfect ;)
We will come on summer, we promise ;)

The Vilnius Tour with Locals with Sauranus was fantastic! He knew much historical detail but also had fun stories and jokes to keep us entertained. We would highly recommend this tour.

We found the tour as they were about to start but this didn’t matter to the guide, Ugne, and nothing fazed her from there on. She was professional, very very knowledgeable and obviously had a real love for her city. She provided a range of knowledge including historical facts, political, religious and cultural, interspersed with personal family stories. She showed us round parts of the Old Town we would never have found on our own. Thank you Ugne you made our trip to Vilnius 100% better.

The puzzles were great, there was a story beforehand us entering the room so we felt even more immersed being there. Had an amazing experience.

The best bar in Lithuania to taste the craft beer scene from Kaunus to Vilnius, IPA’s to Stouts, Sours to Pilsners. Come here if you want chilled, relaxed setting in the heart of the old town.

We had the best time! It was amazing. The guide Kevin was very funny and made us all laugh. It was also very informative and fun to listen to. It was also interactive and after we found out our names in Viking runics. It was very cool. If I ever mind myself back in Lithuania again. I just might go again!

We had a wonderful holiday in the Baltics organized by Travel Addicts. The program was very variated: we visited all the capital cities, but also other, less known spots in each country where you could go for lovely, organized walks and discover nature. Also, you wouldn't visit most of those beautiful places if you would go yourself. We recommend it to everyone; you really get a nice overview of the Baltic States during these two weeks for an affordable price.

Agnieska is such a wonderful person and went out of her way to give us a wonderful personal tour. On top of her expertise of the country, she provided so much cultural insight and gave me a deeper appreciation for all that Lithuania has to offer. Agnieska is easy to be around and was a wonderful guide who made every experience more fun and enjoyable.

Great trip and guide (Lina) that showed and taught us a lot about the history of Vilnius. We had a private tour for two people which was adjusted along the way focussing on our specific interests.

Excellent service and unbelievable detail applied to every cocktail. They don’t serve drinks here, they serve an experience in glass. Epic in every sense of the word.

We went as a family (two daughters 8 and 10, dad scared of heights 46 years old, and quite a short mum). 52 euro for us all (didn’t get the extreme package because youngest not tall enough for elephant jump).
We did the green and blue routes which are the easiest two of the ‘adult routes’. (Red and black are the hardest; black looked like something you might see in gladiators; not for mere mortals. Green route challenging, blue very very difficult for the girls and I. But , as been mentioned before, once you’ve done one zip on each route there is no way back and no route down....at all...so one has no choice but to press on. Your safety is your responsibility; they tell you how to carabiner on, and it is up to you to take note or not. Nobody checks if you are clipped on correctly. Not for parents who are excessively worried about their kids. I nearly came off once an had to use every ounce of my strength to stay on. Eldest daughter was overwhelmed once and had a little cry, but the instructors on the ground talked her across. All in all really good. The girl on the desk was more scary than the black route though. If I went again I’d: 1. Wear better footwear, my desk shoe things weren’t really suitable. 2. Wear on old t-shirt; I got wood sap all over mine. 3. Take water with me on the routes.
