There are huge chunks of amber, larger than a brick. Creative persons have fashioned ships, airplanes, and all manner of things from this material. While it is a shop, as well, no one pressured me to purchased anything.

The interior of the building in itself is worth seeing. Its a beautiful space, with friendly staff. There were gallery guides in English on ipads available to use for free. Theres a shop with interesting items. The cafe lunch was delicious. There was a big library fiull of art books and spaces to relax and read.

This is a great building to see Art, the spaces are excellent, and on show is a varied collection, some of it I really liked, particularly the paintings from 1900 - 1940. There were also some lovely sculptures on display.

The museum is very much recommendable for all who are interested in clothes, textile, ceramics and generally in design. The exhibition contains vast collection of 18th-20th century clothes and accessories from an excellent private collection of fashion historian Alexander Vasilyev with a great background of period portraits. There are also temporary exhibitions. As of present (autumn 2018), there are two of them: china and various knick-knacks from 19th- bginning of the 20th centuries and Lithuanian design of 20th century. For the first one, the collection is surprisingly large, considering all the wars, occupations and lootings Lithuania went through. The second one is also worthwhile, especially for textile and ceramics. The ticket is cheap, only 2 euros. The biggest drawback is that in places there is much more exhibits but information is somewhat scarce. So, if you know what you are looking at, it is excellent, if not - it is only workmanship and variety that you can enjoy.

very nice small museum, with very good paintings. One floor had some century old furniture, the upper floor had all the paintings. Many were portraits but there were other subjects too.

It is a cozy and spacious gallery perfectly suitable for exhibitions. It is located near the city centre in the place which is easy to reach and everyone is welcomed there with a great hospitality.

I have been to more comprehensive collections of European Art and paintings. However,I still enjoyed this art museum very much.I liked its collection of Mannerist and Baroque Period paintings.I saw fine Mannerist style paintings by Ludovico Lipparini("Oath of Horatio"),Jan Van Boeckhorst("Finding of Moses"),Abraham Janssens("Lot and His Daughters")Francisco Ximinez("Saint Mary Magdalene"),and Carlo Dolci.,among others..I also appreciated fine paintings by Jacob Van Ruisdael("Waterfall"),Jacque Stella,Marcelo Venusti("Pieta")and Bartolomeus Spranger..I also liked Carl Scherres'"Flood in East Prussia very much.I also liked their fine temporary exhibit of Aboriginal Art from Australia as well as their splendid exhibit of New Guinea Art.(plenty of fine masks created by the Iatmul people)The price of admission is a genuine bargain.I recommend this fine, somewhat old-fashioned art museum.Acui.

If you are/were an art history student, you learned a lot about the paintings from France, Italy, Britain, Netherlands, and Flanders. Never a mention of Lithuania. When you go to this national art collection, you will learn that Lithuania had some very impressive (even if not internationally well known) artists, particularly in the 18th-20th centuries. As you are in Vilnius to learn about the local culture, it is well worth taking the time to see this museum. The various paintings of the Vilnius will give you a good introduction to the city as well. It is a good size museum. Big enough to feel like an experience and small enough so as not to give you fatigue.

The Culinary heritage museum of Lithuania is a great example how much can be created by one person's passion. It's unique and private collection. Exhibitions consist of art, furniture, valuable plates, silver-plated dishes and culinary books. Only here you can see dinner table serving from Royal visits in Lithuania. All visit was assisted by very friendly and informative staff.
Additionaly there is a possibility to taste Lithuanian culinary heritage in the tavern which is located in the same building.

This is something you cannot foresee. Everything is art and everything is interesting with history all over the place. The building is historic and unique. The collection is sporadic and fascinating. It’s an art setting not chronological. Can’t believe I missed it for so long. Be sure to arrange to see it ALL- book in advance. You will not regret. I had not seen the “ hidden” part and that’s recent to more readily access and apparently much better context and fantastic guides! Don’t miss this from someone who’s regularly in Vilnius.
