For me, this is just the right size city, walkable with charm and history. Piles street and Gedimino flow off the main square. It is well preserved over stone and cobblestone roads and alleyways. Very nice!

First of all; the name TripAdvisor has given the museum is slightly misleading: the focus of the exhibition is not just about the KGB, but rather all forms occupation that Lithuania had to deal with during the 20th century.
Regardless: a museum that is truly worth a visit; it is scary and considering the state of the world right now more important than ever, do make sure that you have something more upbeat to look forward to after your visit, though.

There is a similar museum in Riga, and if you have been there you do not necessarily have to visit this one (or vice versa) since the exhibitions are similar, though with country-specific items in each, of course.

It was quite a good experience to be in the Museum of illusions. The Museum is easy to find with friendly staff, and the illusions are fun. There are small signs explaining all the illusions which also make for great learning.

I visited this church because from pictures of the outside I thought the inside would be gorgeous. Given its age, it was a bit underwhelming. Probably still worth a visit

One of the must-see churches if you come to Vilnius and want to discover the marvels of the architecture. It is even called the most beautiful church of Vilnius.

We stopped here on the way from Riga to Vilnius expecting to see a hill with a few crosses but were amazed to find that there in fact more than 100,000 crosses and more are being added as we write this review! Interestingly the monument was originally established in the 19th century as a symbol of resistance to Russian rule. It is certainly worth a short stopover.

Visiting the gate of dawn takes maybe 20 minutes. Go inside and experience the old polish women praying in front of the madonna. When we were there, a priest came out to take confessions. On a whole a short but interesting experience. No entrance fee.

The district of Uzupis, or is it the Republic of Uzupis? Interesting and very bohemian area close to the centre of Vilnius. Look out for the Constitution on a wall near the square. You can even get your passport stamped in the souvenir shop just over the bridge! A pleasant atmosphere with nice people and the Spunka Bar was very welcoming.

Construction had closed the walk up/down route so you need to plan to be on the "other" side to use the fast tram. It's very inexpensive and don't let the line deter you as it moves very quickly. We enjoyed the wonderful panoramic views from up there and paid the separate entrance fee for the museum. Very tight stairs inside so consider your own abilities or limitations. It was a hot day and in the gift shop they sell water and ice cream...very welcome at modest prices. With covid, the theater is closed so read up ahead of time to know the important history and facts (if you care).

I am grateful that I got to visit so that Lithuanians could remember the holocaust as it happened right there. It tells a story that is not included in US history books.

The altar was unusual but quite nice and the interior a bit dark giving it a sense of calm (what you want in a church). I like it and was happy to see it differentiated from the other churches.

We walked in this park twice and I would have been here every day of our stay if our schedule permitted. Coffee nearby, lovely cafe, tennis matches to watch, carousel for children, fountains, flowers along well-tended paths, etc.

Very interesting museum. Free to enter and lots of exhibits. Not just about Lithuanian money but lots of European and USSR history too.

Odd in way but pay to go in and to tower of cathedral as well, Was neat to wander the halls and see student life in a way. Tower was very good to go up, especially after a lot of walking and had elevator part way up.
