Well worth the cost to make a day of it. The ferry from Klaipeda runs very frequently and isn’t too expensive however the local fee once you are there is way too high at 30 euros.

Regardless, it is a very interesting place to visit, especially if it is a nice day. The long Baltic Sea beach is a favourite place for locals and pleasant to stroll along.

So cute little mouse! Children were delighted, so did also the parents. Charming old town’s street. Nice photos, beautiful records. With love from Riga!

I visited the aquarium. It was nice but could have wished for a few more tanks with live animals. Visited on the last Sunday of the month where the museum is free which also ment it was quite crowded. The signs was in English as well :)

The first thing that struck me about visiting Klaipėda was how many sculptures it had, and how odd a lot of these were. When I first saw the Black Ghost I thought it was a great creepy little Easter Egg, but when I researched the sculpture afterwards it became even more charming to me.

This is a cosy and nice city. Small city center but a lot to discover. The Dange river and the port. In between the cobblestone streets with restaurants and shops. Love this place.

We chose this spot to have our anniversary dinner. It was romantic and interesting. On a vintage craft, the dining room is in the hull which has been preserved, restored, and appointed in fine nautical style. The only caution is that a diner must be able to navigate a rather steep set of stairs.

The menu was not large but we each found a favorite entree - duck for me; shrimp for my wife. The food was delicious. We also had wine and a dessert which were tasty. The chef really knows what he/she is doing. We even had a special little creation (complimentary) between courses. The waiter was efficient but not particularly friendly (I don't think he knew much English). Expect to pay prices that might be 30% more than eateries on the street, but the difference is worth it.

Visited on a Sunday, great attentive service, excellent food. Really great selection of beers, and a tasting version of many if that suits you!

If we weren't going home we would definitely come back for more!

Unfortunately, we were unable to read any of the descriptions because they were only in Lithuanian & Russian. Very cheap entry fee. This place has the potential to be an amazing museum.

The beach and water is great. I didn't like that there was a beach only for women at the best location, then for families a bit further away and then for men the furthest away. Which ment I more or less ended up with all the families with small children since I didn't want to walk two kilometers more to get to the beach for men. Would have been nice with a beach just for adults of both genders.

Nice mall a bit out of the center. It has both bowling, cinema, casino and an ice hockey rink. There's of course also a supermarket and shops.

Freshly renovated, interesting museum dedicated to clocks/watches history. Offers some art/furniture as well. Could be attractive for families with children too.

An easy way to get to Smiltyne. And the ticket is affordable. °
I enjoyed the view from 2nd floor :)
