This square has many monuments and statuary in a very large and open surrounding. The county hall, which is directly on this square, is a lovely building with huge artworks on the outside of the top floor. You can really feel the use of the square many years ago as it served as the marketplace for farmers to sell their wares.

Pecs cathedral is stunning. We bought a combined ticket with the mosque.
The entry ticket allows you to go down into the crypt which has lovely wall decorations and also up the bell tower for a wonderful view. To really see the paintings on the ceiling and the decorative walls you need a ticket and it is well worth the money.

This place is renovated for the European Cultural Capital, 2010. It seems that they was paying attention for the view, because the beuildings are beautiful, full of Zsolnay porcelain. There are many small museums in this quarter. You must pqy all of them to visit. There is 't a ticket where you can visit all although it would be very very expansive. The exhibitions seperately are also expensive and unfortunately they are quite small. But if you are there, you must see the Mausoleum of Zsolnay family and the exhibition about the Zsolnay porcelain's golden age. It can be a whole day program.

Right in the middle of the old city is Kiraly Utca. It is a relatively straight street with gorgeous painted buildings on either side. Different types of architectures adorn the buildings and are certainly worth a healthy peeking!

It is hard to find educational places to take your kids to where they would learn something in a non-boring manner. This place really keeps them engaged because it is like a maze they can explore. It is also a great activity to do on a cold, rainy/snowy day. Those are, as well, few and far between if you are not visiting Budapest.

The view is beautiful up there, we sat in the restaurant as well.

The selection of food are rich, including deserts. The place was understaffed that time, I noticed only two waiters running in circles and taking orders. The waiters are very nice though, despite the pressure they have to endure.

They accept credit cards or cash.

Furthermore, you cannot vouch your entry tickets in the restaurant. Even if you specifically want to eat there, you need to pay admission fee for the Tower.

We were on a tour of Pecs on Friday, 15 April 2022. It was a perfect time to visit this synagogue. The synagogue itself is quite plain but it allowed us to offer a couple of prayers for others who are suffering in this world today, especially in the Ukraine!!

Pecs was our first stop in Hungary on a roadtrip. It was an amazing "little" city. Reading beforehand about things to visit I wasn't keen on paying for few attractions. However, it turned out to be great decision!
Once you buy ticket for Mauzoleum it covers few more locations that are worth seeing. To be honest, visiting mauzoleum under the eary christian church remains was quite dissapointing but we then we went to Cella Septichora and it payed off! Also in the price visit to Medieval "university" is included which was as well very interesting to see, but not absolutely amazing. When you put these few things to visit and a walk around just that area around Basilica, our morning- early afternoon was well spent!

Jakovali Hassan Mosque and Museum is a unique place to visit.
It was a mosque converted into a catholic church. Admission fee was HUF 1,900 for adults. It is very well maintained.
    An absolute must to see!

Beautifully renovated gravesite, saved in the last minute from devastation.
Although Zsolnay's were one of the most important players of the local history, this place was abandoned for many years.

Now it is redone, but unfortunately hardly visited
