- BeckyCakesCarbondale, CO101 contributionsThe horsemen were very skilled and the horses were incredible. I loved the demonstration but only wished the show was a little bit longer and we could have seen the water wells/pumps and traditional barns up close. Nonetheless, I would recommend this!Written August 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AlbywonSydney, Australia13,666 contributionsThis park houses the Zoo and Botanical Gardens and also Borders the University of Debrecen and a Forest Area. I completed a trail run yesterday through the area and enjoyed it very much.Written May 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marek_ZGZielona Gora, Poland1,995 contributionsThe Protestant Great Church of Debrecen is the most recognisable landmark of the city as well as it is the largest Protestant church in Hungary thus known as "the Calvinist Rome". Besides, it offers spectacular views from the tower.Written July 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JoeBangkok, Thailand4,945 contributionsThe Deri Museum is one of the most prominent and oldest museums in Hungary, located in Debrecen. The museum was founded in 1912 by the local humanist, Frigyes Deri. The museum has a vast collection of Hungarian and international art, historical artifacts, and natural history specimens.
The museum's art collection features works from famous Hungarian artists, such as Mihály Munkácsy, László Mednyánszky, and József Rippl-Rónai, as well as international artists, including El Greco, Rubens, and Titian. In addition to art, the museum also houses historical artifacts, including weapons, costumes, and coins from various historical periods.
Overall, Deri Museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in Hungarian history and art. The museum's impressive collection, beautiful building, and knowledgeable staff make for a truly memorable experience.Written March 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I was trying to use it and paying by card but I failed in finishing this. 2 hours should be enough if you do not have kids with you and also depends if the weather conditions. A tip for parking it will be the street behind the enterence gate from the zoo, near a hotel and a kurtos kiosk- free of charge.
Different types of enterence fees. A common one is 2500 HUF.
You can pay also by card, you will receive a map and you are ready to explore the wilderness in captivity :)
You will find some animals, you can also buy food to feed them. There are some spots where you can rest.
Toilets you can find inside, well marked.
You can see a lot of birds, hippopotamuses, giraffes, lions, pinguins, kangaroos, emu, monkeys and so on.Written April 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It looks majestic and the fountain in front of it looks nice, unfortunately it was not working when we visited. Also, we visited when some university thingy was happening, there were a lot of students, some concerts and a lot of stands with flags from all around the world, so accidentaly we experienced some University spirit. It is, as far as I know, the greatest University in Hungary and also one of the good places to study abroad.Written June 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Timothy MEureka, MO255 contributionsWent to see the horse show and was delighted with it. It consists of demonstrations by Hungarian "cowboys" and their very well trained horses. Individual horsemen showed off their and their horses talents. Some horse teams were also featured. Well worth seeing.Written October 9, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- themanc37Manchester, UK28 contributionsVisited with2 young kids.
Really enjoyable few hours spent here using the interactive exhibits.
Something for all ages.
Definitely worth a visit.
There were a few exhibits not working while we were there, hence why only 4 stars, but would certainly visit again
Good instructions in English, although all the demonstrations except 1 were in Hungarian.

Around the stadium there is some sort of boardwalk that leads to entrances, but you can also use it to stroll around and have some great views of the surroundings, especially of the Water tower. We watched a game of U17 Football European Championship there and heard the football pitch itself is also great and overall experience was great. The only fault I found was that at the entrances sometimes the QR codes are not working properly, for example, I submitted my entrance ticket on mobile phone from PDF document and it did not want to scan it, however, the paper one, it scanned without any problem.Written June 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sophimikDebrecen, Hungary30 contributionsAs every bigger town, Debrecen has also it's flea market/ bazaar, called by locals just Zsibi (ʒibi). You can get there by bus 15,15Y or 30 or a 30min walk from the main square (Kossuth tér).
You can find here all kind of stuff: from used bikes to vintage furniture, clothes, books etc. Walk around and get a sausage (Kolbász) or Lángos with some hot tea at one of the food stalls.
The market opens everyday at 7:00 am, but go there on the weekend, so you can see the most.Written November 30, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Great and friendly staff who worked there! Cost 900 Ft for an adult ticket and 500 Ft for my student girlfriend.Written October 20, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TalTalKKefar Sava, Israel229 contributionsWe visited in June and it was pretty empty, so we didn't have to wait in line at all. There are tons of activities to do there, including a few awesome ropes courses that even our 4-year-old twins were able to do! It isn't expensive at all and it's fairly accessible by public transportation+a 10-minute walk through the forest on a bike lane. We ate at the restaurant on site behind Snow White and it was delicious. Pro tip: the beer was cheaper than the soft drinks :-) There are a lot of food stands in the park, there's definitely something for everyone. Some rides are only from age 6 or from certain heights, but our 6-year-old could do everything, and our 4-year-olds almost everything. We would have gone with just the twins as well. There is a discount if you come later in the day (we came when the park opened). We would have stayed longer than 3 hours had our kids been older, but the small ones were exhausted.Written June 27, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
