Nice site - a very enjoyable walk around Castle Town lead us to the Bastion - the monument doesn’t feel enclosed at all and instead of just being able to look at it, you can actually walk “inside” it. Pretty cool

This was the last stop on our day walk and it felt so rushed. We should have planned a whole day just for the castle area which is like a walled village with cobbled streets that we didn’t really enjoy as we didn’t realise it was as big as it was. Very quaint and you can see where disney gets inspiration from for the castles and such. The castle itself is under repairs, but nonetheless was interesting to see the before photos in the boards. Lovely side streets, an amazing Ruswurm café dating back to the 1800’s (austro hungarian empire (rumour has it that Sisi the austrohungarian empress was a fan of the cafe. So I really recommend a cake or 2 from there.

The view from the fisherman’s bastion is spectacular, best views from the paid entry onto the wall, though lovely views from open areas too.

To get up to the castle the funicular lines are so long or there are golf cart style shuttles every 15 minutes or so that will drive you up, around the castle and back down. Neither are cheap Funicular is £10 each (5,000 ft) or the shuttle is £12 each (6,000 ft). Or you could walk up or get a local bus.

Top tips, don’t underestimate the size of the area. You could easily spend a whole day.
Queues! Especially for last busses/ funicular down.

Really check if the budapest card is worth it for you. We walked the whole city and not huge museum fans so we didn’t get the cards. €99 each for 72hours is steep for what we would have got out of it.

Stunning cathedral and well wroth the effort to enter and walk around ... took about an hour inside and saw everything in a calm matter.

Consider buying your tickets online to avoid the big queues to buy tickets. Entrance fee was 5 euros.

Once inside the size is unreal and make sure you go to the stairs and go up to the 2nd floor exhibits where you have wonderful views of the alter and organ.

Really enjoyed the visit and tour. Anna our guide was very good, though a little quiet for deaf git like me. History and story behind this hospital in fascinating. Displays and condition is excellent. Well worth a visit and the fee. Budapest needs to start accept cash instead of card all the time. Cash is king.

Great place, beautiful views, definitely worth visiting. The queues for the Funnical train get long, so arrive early or take one of the many local buses to the top.

Great afternoon learning about wines and regions. Even better tasting them plus chocolates and scones to enhance the flavor of the wines. We did the premium selection and there were lots of old and limited editions. Quite a few steps so if you need help message ahead and Gabor is super helpful! Highly recommend booking a visit to make sure you get to enjoy the historical cellar

A large museum with a good collection of Hungarian art from different periods. I'm a fan of medieval and renaissance era art, which, in my opinion, the museum had too little of, the focus being more on the art made from the 19th century onwards.

The dome has nice views over the city, would highly recommend going up there.

I walked up the hill where Buda Castle and Matthias Church are located. Since it was a long walk, I decided to use the funicular to get down. No one else was using the funicular at the time when I was there, so I had it all to myself.

The view of the Danube, Szechenyi Bridge and St. Stephen's Basilica from the funicular was truly spectacular. The ride took about a minute and I paid 5000 forints for a ticket.

Under the hill there was a long line of people waiting to go up by funicular. From my experience, I would say that instead of waiting in line for a long time, it is better to walk up the hill and use the funicular to get down. (You can walk to Matthias Church along the road and then up the stairs, so it's not a difficult climb.)

Really loved this gorgeous gallery, with its 3 floors, courtyard and garden full of sculpture and paintings. What a lovely lovely place, run by friendly ladies. Would have loved to buy some of the art.

This is a wonderful statue located next to Matthias Church. It has a white stone base with intricate figurines and lion sculptures on each corner. Under the actual statue you will find some gold leaf symbols, and to the top is St. Stephen riding his horse carved from green bronze. Fabulous monument.

The views from here are lovely - even when it's raining - as it was when I visited. There are many verandas and viewing points opposite Buda Castle within it's grounds where you can get great photos of bridges across the Danube and the other side of the city.

The museum is a great way to learn about the history of Budapest and isn’t that badly priced! There’s a lot to see and a lot to take in so it’s defiantly worth a look but I’d be surprised if anyone could see it all in a day!

This fountain lies within the Buda Castle courtyard and is a wonderful sight. Not least because it actually works as a fountain should. The intricate architecture on the figurines is lovely and it's a very worthwhile visit.

It is not very large so doable and you will see and learn. I was amazed that some swords were out to see/touch.
