This was a great tour to take on a rainy day. As a medical professional, I very much appreciated seeing the historical nature of trauma medical care in a bunker. It was brought to “life” by many wax figures of doctors, nurses, and patients. The tour is structured — no one is not allowed to wander through by oneself. Part of the tour is a section of the cave system used as a nuclear bunker with an exhibit on Hiroshima.

Its a pretty big gallery with a lot of art pieces, mostly from the last 2 centuries. I spent 3 hours seeing everything.

I feel like its not organized the best and the another issue I have is that for people who are not part of the EU (people under 26) have to pay the regular price, there is no discount. This sucked because im a student and 4200HUF, around 12EUR, was actually kind of expensive for me.

Worth seeing if you you have the time but its not a must, the museum next ti this one, castle museum, in my opinion is better

What a hidden gem - after we left our tour of the Buda Castle my wife and I wandered into this small gallery. I was blown away by the original paintings, drawings and sculptures. So glad we stopped by!

It is not very large so doable and you will see and learn. I was amazed that some swords were out to see/touch.

It gives you many informations about the history of city and castle it self. Maybe it could be more modern, more interactive.

This is a great museum about the history of Hungarian music and instruments and their manufacture. The museum is only small but there is a lot in it.
I think it's easily missed as it's slightly hidden away beyond Matthias Church, which is sad.

It’s almost 1,5km tunnel with nothing to see. The statues are not good at all. There is a whole part of the labyrinth that’s in complete darkness. Not for claustrophobics AND not for people with any kind of respiratory problems. I have a mild form I asthma and I couldn’t breath in there! It’s full of humidity and mold! This place is not being well taken care of. I was running trying to get out and get some fresh air.

This is an interesting historical medical museum on the Buda side of the Danube with a huge collection of artefacts.
The only downside most of the in depth explanations are only in Hungarian

Was a bit tough to find the correct door to actually get in but once you do…id recommend you have cash to pay the admission . when i was there the computer was down. my ticket was a post it note and thankfully i had enough cash .

Once you get through all that you open the door to a spectacular room. The main reading room is huge. The detail and workmanship that went into this is obvious.

If you are a fan of interesting buildings, architecture, old books and really big ladders you should stop by.

Tripadvisor said it opens at 9am…. I got there at 945 and it didn't open till 10am so check

National Archives of Hungary contains records from 1000 years of Hungarian history. The Archives was established in 1756 in Pozsony (then the capital of Hungary), moved to Buda in 1784 and relocated to its present (main) building in 1923. The massive neo-Gothic building has rounded window arches, embellished gables and beautiful colored roof tiles. The main entrance is a neo-Gothic porch, with receding arches supported by slender columns. The interior has neo-Gothic elements such as pointer groin vaults, colored tile work and frescoes of medieval knights and saints. Unfortunately, the Archives were severely damaged during WW II (1944-45) and the 1956 uprising, but the building was restored. The Archives are open 8.30am – 5.45pm (Tues-Thurs) and close early at 2pm on Mon. and Fri. There is no entry fee.
