The 2nd largest synagogue in the world, this is a very impressive building and a must see when you visit this area. The streets around it are also very interesting - much more urban gritty than the central district of Pest and worth a wander

I came for the first time, the place is very good and has a historical structure, it is a wonderful historical work. It's as if you go back to a hundred years ago when you enter, the food, the music and the atmosphere are great. I strongly recommend it to everyone

We stayed a few blocks away and found ourselves going here every day and night as we passed through to other parts of the city. This is where the bulk of bars and restaurants are located, and where people go after dark. We always felt safe, definitely check out a few of the ‘ruin’ establishments in the area. Fun neighborhood.

The synagogue was beautiful and the guide very informative. The ghetto almost impossible to read the information as so many people all standing in front. This was January, later in the year must be a nightmare

Although small, this synagogue is stunning and worth a visit. The style is beautiful yet a contrast to the other synagogues in Budapest. We got to explore it on our own, while we wish there were more visitors, it allowed us to go slowly and really take in the grandeur. There were helpful information panels throughout the synagogue. Well worth a visit.

Our hotel was close by so we took advantage of this area for cafes and bars. Seemed perfectly safe to walk, we especially enjoyed the ‘ruin bars’ in this area - just Google them! Choices galore, both food and drink.

Located within Rozsak tere, “Square of Roses”, named after the beautiful rose garden surrounding this architecturally beautiful, catholic church built in the neo-gothic style, we especially like the spire, that are an impressive 76 meters tall, we must admit this is not something you expect to see in this quite neighbourhood.

This memorial park pays tribute to Raoul Wallenberg, a Righteous Among the Nations.
It is located at the back side of the Great synagogue and features a haunting weeping willow sculpture with the last names of Jewish victims.
It's a must visit while in Budapest.

This memorial is easy to miss since is located in a small street by the wall. Pretty curious to see its meaning. Not much to see but a quick photo

This is a central and trendy street in the beautiful Jewish quarter in Budapest.
The street features numerous eateries, Jewish sites and some lovely galleries.

We had a private tour guide and went to 3 synagogues in Budapest. They were all different and all very worthwhile. The Tree of Life sculpture is breathtaking and vry memorable.

A distinctive Secessionist/Art Nouveau building worth a visit, on an avenue parallel to Andrassy boulevard. Church front is unique, nice decorative elements, beautiful parsonage as well. Can't comment on inside since I just caught a glimpse since a service was on.
