- Joël DAvignon, France2,432 contributionsA place not too be missed once in Budapest !
I firstly discoverd it in a cold winter in the 90's. It was covered of snow, and with almost nobody there...
I returned to the cemetery twice this year, in March on my won, and with a friend in October. I spent hours there each time I visited it.
Very helpul staff at the entrance and free map and booklet.
A bit similar to the Père Lachaise in Paris. Amazing mausoleums and graves.
I simply love the place !Written December 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a time consuming and expensive venture but so important to those of us who have relatives buried here!
Even if you don't, there are some impressive graves and memorials to see that show how vibrant and large the Jewish community was before the Holocaust.Written November 5, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Among celebrities that are buried here are composer Béla Bartók, conductor sir Georg Solti and world class pianist Zoltán Kocsis.
Peaceful to stroll around.Written August 18, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Even without an interest in the Jewish history it would be worth a visit. Even more impactful if you do. Easy tram access, and a must for visitors to FiumeWritten July 29, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
