If you're tourist thing is to visit churches you will not be disapointed. The inside of St. Stephen's Basilitca is simply stuning. The surrounding walls showcase statues and fresques and the stations of the cross are just beautifull. The central altar and the voulted ceilings are magnificient. For a special treat you can use an elevator to get the a bell tower that gives you great views of the city. Worth the stop.

Stopped in to check it out and glad we did. A church carved out the cave, there are quite a few things to look at, with different chapels allocated in the space. I especially liked the chapel with the wood carvings. You’ll see it as you cross the Liberty bridge.

This is a quiet place on a busy shopping street. The exterior was not compelling, but the interior was surprisingly beautiful. We were very happy we stepped inside.

Excellent point of visiting when in Budapest. Easily accessible by bus. Combine this attraction with Buda Castle since their proximity.

Interesting church, built on top of ruins. It was part of our day tour with Viking River cruises. You can climb to the top of tower. Also a downstairs that is very interesting. I recommend this, while it is not as spectacular as some churches. It has some very nice things to see.

Located within Rozsak tere, “Square of Roses”, named after the beautiful rose garden surrounding this architecturally beautiful, catholic church built in the neo-gothic style, we especially like the spire, that are an impressive 76 meters tall, we must admit this is not something you expect to see in this quite neighbourhood.

Calvinist Church (a.k.a Szilágyi Dezső Square Reformed Church) is a Protestant church in Szilágyi Dezső Square near the west bank of the Danube. It was built by Samuel Pecz from 1894 to 1896 in a neo-Gothic style of architecture. The building is graceful, with brick walls and rib vaults, flanked by a slender 62m belfry. The gabled roof incorporates Zsolnay tiles (a Hungarian manufacturer of colorful, durable ceramics) in brown, yellow and green. The church interior is simple, with Gothic arches, ribbed vaults and a rose window. An unusual design has twin apses forming a pentagonal crossing with a circular alter in the center. The pulpit is nicely carved, and there is an organ in a rear gallery above the nave. The church is open during the day with no entry fee, although a donation is gratefully accepted.

We walked past the church going to the central market and returned, as we remembered just how beautiful it is.
The ol' lady hasn't lost her charm.

This church looks OK on the outside but the inside is really gorgeous. Gold colored decorations are everywhere, along the side altars and the main altar. There are also ceiling frescos if you look up. This church is not popular with tourists. So it is peaceful and quiet inside allowing you to enjoy the beauty without being disturbed. Note that there are two St. Anne's Church in Budapest. This one is also known as the Servite Chruch. The outside is distinguished by one single tower. The other one is located on the Buda side and is distinguished by twin spires. I noticed quite a few pictures for both churches in Tripadvisor were posted to the wrong entry.

This large elegant church is located just across the street that we stayed in whilst visiting Budapest. Consequently, we had the opportunity to view its fine external architecture which is dominated by twin bell towers, every day.
One of those days was a Sunday and it was not surprising that the church appeared to attract a large number of worshipers to its various services on that day. We did not attend a service but we managed to have a quick glimpse inside in between two of the services.
The interior decoration and furnishings of the large church are certainly detailed and impressive. The numerous rows of wooden pews indicated that the church can certainly cater for a large congregation.
This church is certainly not a “must-see” attraction in Budapest but it is worth a quick viewing if you happen to be in the vicinity!

This is another point of interest within the walls of the Vajdahunyad Castle. The intricately carved stonework on the façade makes this a popular place for a photo-ops.

It was closed when we visited this time, but on a previous visit there was a wedding taking place so we did get to see the beautiful interior.
