Wasn’t too sure about this but as it ranked so high on Tripadvisor we decided to give it a go. We booked tickets inside and killed a couple of hours nearby before returning for the guided tour.

It was really interesting and so lovely architecture inside. Overall a great way to spend an hour or so and lots of photo opportunities.

We walked over from the Pest side of the river and came up to the castle via a funicular and eventually walked across to the church and the fishermen’s bastion. This is a special magical area over in Buda right on the Danube. Highly recommended.

The palace grounds provides a panoramic view of the Danube River and the City of Pest. It’s worth the effort to get there. It’s easily accessible by the trams and by the funicular railroad. The views are spectacular. Some of the buildings are being restored. There is a bar on the grounds where you can get a couple glasses of wine, sit by the statue in front of the palace and watch the world go by. Best place for people watching.

This was the first Holocaust memorial in Budapest we visited. It is easy to miss. Small and quiet. It is whispering silently to people which are passing by. Those people which notice shoes stop and slowly approach to stay a while and think about humanity. It makes you cry.

To say reaching the top in 30 degrees of afternoon heat and humidity was a trek would be an understatement. To say I was more than delighted that I did, would also be an understatement. The views are spectacular. The views are spectacular. Panoramic. There is an energy about this place that is hard to explain. It almost feels like you become revitalised after every viewing point.

Was so looking forward to seeing it, having seen it feature in so many photos of Budapest... But it is currently closed and completely under cover for renovation.

The history of Hungary, offered by Statues of the most influential leaders of their time. This is also the location of many protests and demonstrations so check with the locals before you go

The citadel is closed to be renovated. But it is worth to go there and see the beautiful view of Budabest especially at night. There is so dark so don’t forget to have a flashlight in your phone :)

We were here about ten years ago and paid to go through, even though the price was quite high (about $10-12 if I remember correctly. Now the prices of entry are upwards of $20, depending on which tour you take. We decided that we had seen the synagogue previously and didn't care to spend that much money to revisit it. But it is a glorious synagogue, quite unlike any we had seen before. Maybe next time, again.

Lovely architecture in the buildings and so many statues around to see. We did a bike tour and this was part of the tour.

We came across the music fountain accidentally, when we hopped off our river cruise, to walk on Margaret Island. What a wonderful surprise! The opera music and the colorful lights on the fountains are spectacular. When we went back another evening they played pop music. Highly recommendable
