Fantastic experience with Marti. I was part of a group of four couples that took the Hungarian Cooking Class with Marti. This experience was the surprising highlight after our Danube river cruise. Marti was fun and got all of us involved in the cooking experience. The four hours we were with her went by very quickly. We prepared dishes that I probably would never order off a menu. However, they were fantastic! Really enjoyable meal. Marti made special accommodations for the gluten-free friend in our group, which we really appreciated. Just hoping the videos and pictures of me flipping crepes never make their way to social media. The other cool part of the experience was hearing about Marti's life. How she learned all the recipes. What it is like to grow up and live in Hungary. Great food, fantastic Hungarian wine, very comfortable environment...A very special evening!

This was so fun, interesting and yummy!! The wine and appetizers were delicious, learned about the different Paprikas. Then got to learn about the background of strudel and all the different fillings you can use, not just the ones we made. The best part was just talking with our hostess/teacher. She is lovely, informative and so welcoming. And BTW - the strudel came out GREAT. Just don't do it the last night of your trip so you can have leftovers!! Thoroughly enjoyed.

I'm really glad I participated in this activity while in Budapest. As a wine enthusiast, I found the level of information about wines, Hungarian wines, Hungary, pairing to be geared nicely to our audience, and tailored based on questions. As a wine educator myself, I know you can easily overwhelm your guests with to much information, so it's usually best to give basics and gear the deep dives based on their interests. Carlos, our host, did just that.

Carlos, was knowledgeable, passionate and humorous. He came prepared to teach us the basics of Hungarian geography and history, and of wine in the country. Then geared how deep he went based on our questions and interest. He gave us time also to mix and mingle a bit and encouraged interactivity.

The wines were delightful, I really like the whites especially. I love how the shop supports smaller boutique wineries that focus more on low intervention wine making techniques. It's so sad that Hungary doesn't distribute more to the US (I learned the production only just covers local consumption). But glad that now I have a shop that can ship to me if I need a fix!

    Thank you so much!

We had a wonderful morning with Vesna. We prepared three very authentic (and delicious) Hungarian dishes.

She was incredibly well prepared - everything was ready to go so just some chopping and stirring but a lot of attention and guidance given to the timing to ensure none of the ingredients were spoiled in any way and we got the best out of the spices etc, but lots of information provided about the ingredients and essentially a lovely sharing of information about how locals source, prepare and cook their food, which was very interesting.

Facilities were excellent. No pressure to rush our lunch, lots of drinks offered throughout.

Vesna is lovely, warm and engaging and passionate about her craft - highly recommended, it was a great experience for me and my teens.

The guide was amazing, explained and taught the whole process. At the end of the preparation we ate and really enjoyed the experience. It can be reached by a green metro to the last stop and from there on foot in 10 minutes.

Lovely idea, whoever had it, amazing! This workshop is basically in the open air, in a beautiful, truly beautiful setting under the trees, by the zoo in Budapest. The family loved it!

Fantastic tour with many off the beaten path sites. We were so glad that we did this, as we would have never gotten some of the history and sites included on this tour. Our group had a great time with the cooking class and loved what we made!

We were looking for something different and this was perfect. We went to a private apartment where we met Viki who was to be our teacher and hostess for the evening. She was delightful. It was just the three of us and we helped make a four course meal of a dip with bread, goulash, lechton(a traditional pepper, tomato dish) and bread pudding. We had wine paired with each. The food was delicious. While cooking Viki gave us historical information about the food of Budapest. We left feeling like we had made a new friend.

Amazing experience! We had high expectations for our baking/pastry class since my husband is from Hungarian heritage and we wanted to learn how to make some family favorites (Dobos torte, Langos & apple strudel). It was the highlight of our trip! Marti was such fun and a great teacher!
