Marti is a great guide, chef, host and teacher! We had a very informative walk around the Central Market learning about the various Hungarian food traditions. We then went to Marti's and made Chicken Paprikash and mini dumplings under her expert guidance. She treated us to palinka and a plate of Hungarian cured meats and pickled vegetables ( including baby watermelons!) whilst we cooked.
Having just got home, we have made it again - with great success 😁. See picture.

Such a lovely experience learning to make savory and sweet strudel from Marti. She was such a pleasure to learn from. Kind, patient, and very knowledgable. I appreciated that she gave us alternative ingredient suggestions for when he decide to make strudel at home ourselves. Loved trying the homemade fruit sparkling water, wine, and traditional snacks as we waited for the strudel to bake. Marti continuously cleaned up after us throughout the whole process too. She is so kind and organized! Highly recommend this for a special and memorable experience, whether you are a baker or not!

We started the class with a Market overview tour. Very insightful. We then proceeded to the cooking class. Totally cool. The class was very hands on and a lot of fun. Best of all we ate the three course lunch we made and it was incredible. If you want a unique experience in Budapest I highly recommend this.

Our sommelier was full of knowledge and happy to answer our numerous questions. We were not aware of how much wine Hungary produced. The wines were varied and enjoyable. The atmosphere was amazing. Don’t miss this experience

We had a fantastic afternoon with our guide Kata discussing Austro-Hungarian history and influence on today's cooking at the Parliament and Central Market Hall. She picked out small local plums and sauerkraut with us before heading to the cooking instruction room near Budapest-Kelepi rail station where we cooked a version of Hungarian goulash in the same style her family would make at home, then made a poppyseed plum dumpling dessert. We will certainly try both recipes at home! Kata was willing to work with us on start time for the tour, handled all the travel logistics, and was very informative and kind. She sprinkled in plenty of other information about influences from other time periods such as the ottomans as well. We will certainly take another tour with her when we get back! It was a great way to experience some Hungarian food and culture!

Good experience for cold days in Budapest. The location is perfect, it’s easy to stop by, do a workshop of chimney cakes, have a coffee, warm up, and then continue visiting the city! Oh, and we could take 3 chimney cakes with us, that was the best part!

This was a wonderful experience. Marta has an amazing place where she hosts. It was spacious and comfortable, and she welcomed us like family. She is warm and energetic and guided us through the making of our 3-course menu like a pro. I was solo along with two other pairs, a group of 5 total, and there was more than enough to do for everyone to be hands on and get plenty involved though it was easy going and without pressure. There was snacks and wine and plenty of food for everyone to have as much as they desired. We made goulash soup, hortobagy pancake with chicken paprikash and gerbeaud layer cake. All the food turned out great and we used high quality ingredients for everything. I happened to have just tried the gerbeaud cake at the famous Cafe Gerbeaud prior to the experience and can say hands down that the one we made with Marta was the winner between the two! :) Thanks for an amazing dinner and cooking class! This was a great value and I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a special experience during their time in Budapest

Chef Marti is an inspiring chef and a fantastic teacher. We spent four hours with her making traditional Langos, Strudel and Dobos cake, and we feel we will be able to make these delicious treats at home with her recipes. The atmosphere was really fun and relaxed. Her English was clear and precise. You will have a great experience with her.

I was in a group of four touring Budapest with Nelli. It was perfect! She is professional and personable. We explored parts of the city we would not have found on our own. Very eclectic settings with homemade goods, food and wine. It was a delightful experience! We plan to meet with her again for an online cooking class.

The guide was amazing, explained and taught the whole process. At the end of the preparation we ate and really enjoyed the experience. It can be reached by a green metro to the last stop and from there on foot in 10 minutes.
