I am a seamstress and as I travel internationally I love to try and find vintage handwork that is done by locals.....hubby and I also love the unique small antique treasures to bring home as memories. I saw a review for this place on Trip Advisor......so glad I did. She was not open on Sunday so we walked back there on Monday and the store clerk was very kind......they always love it when I tell them that I sew. She had stacks and stacks and stacks of vintage pillowcases, shams, handmade hangings, handkerchiefs......and her store had vintage Herend. We had shopped at the Herend retail stores but really wanted older unique pieces.......they were here! She had so many things I could have bought and brought home at great prices. If you are remotely interested in small vintage pieces of jewelry, linens and china do not miss this store. - Sally WHythe, UK1,165 contributionsI fell in love with Hungarian mid century pottery, and managed to find a lovely vase at a good price being sold by an elderly couple. It was a lot of fun to walk around, and the surrounding area is great on a Sunday. - Jane VCalgary, Canada5 contributionsVarga Crystal is not only beautiful, but, the service from the store in Budapest is extraordinary. We purchased two champagne glasses and realized there was a flaw in one of them when we returned home with it. The owner of Varga Crystal was surprised that the glass had not been discovered in the quality control process and was very concerned. He promptly replaced the glass and had it shipped to us in Canada without any issue.

The owners are very friendly, the prices very fair. I found a few unique things there. It's rather small shop, about three rooms, but packed to the ceiling.

- Philip PLos Angeles, CA68 contributionsMy partner and I collect religious icons from all over. We came across this lovely little shop after exploring Buda Castle on our way to Fisherman's Bastion. We were immediately attracted to the hand carved icons, which are certified by a wax seal and documentation identifying them as authentically hand crafted in Hungary. The shop also offers beautiful, and rather expensive antique icons as well as locally made potter religious items including plates and crosses. We thought we would see other icon shops in Pest, but we didn't!
