What travelers are saying
- BLANCA Stexas166 contributionsLots of shops to buy meats, spices and the like. Upstairs, there's an escalator, are souvenir stands with slightly better prices than in city center. Also, shops with food to sit and eat. Most of the stands sell the same items. Some shopkeepers also accepted euro currency.Written February 3, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Jen4 contributionsRun, don't walk, to this phenomenal food market at Szimpla Kert ruin bar. Best chocolate croissant, homemade porcini mushroom spread, unique atmosphere. A mustWritten March 19, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Brads225Lincoln, UK68 contributionsThe staff at the entrance were helpful & informative, being visually impaired I paid for audio guide. Being instructed on the device's use & given a floor plan, told of where to find number for audio description of paintings. Along the route I struggled to find many audio descriptions available, so went without for majority of the gallery. The premises were accessible, light & spaceous for crowded times.Written March 12, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Brandon BurnsBelfast, UK60 contributionsVery large shopping centre with 100s of shops. It is a very spacious mall with a variety of shops. A very large food court with a variety of international foods to choose from.
The shopping centre is very easy to get too as there is a train station attached to it and also the subway is ok ground floor. Aswell as various bus stops that stop off around it.
This is a great place to visit when you go to BudapestWritten April 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Worth spending 2-3 hours looking round here, would be good for a rainy day activity. Free toilet access around the mall.
The temperature of this mall is comfortable, unlike the Westend where they have the heating set to boiling hot in winter! Has some of the same shops, but much bigger versions of those same shops, so there is a greater choice of clothes to choose from.
There are not only fancy expensive brands such as Guess, but also cheaper and equally beautiful clothing in a shop called New Yorker.
There is an abundance of clean and comfy seating dotted about the floors. Some of them are like couch-style.
I didn't bother with any mall-food in Budapest, so I can't rate the restaurants here, but the food court seemed moderately busy when I was here.Written March 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. What a lovely lovely place, run by friendly ladies. Would have loved to buy some of the art.Written September 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- patraveller2007Philadelphia, PA1,216 contributionsLehel Market is 3 stops on the M-3 from central Budapest. Unlike the Central Market, this market is mainly used by locals. Almost none of the merchants speak a language other vthan their own. Prices are much lower than in the center of Budapest. Lots of bakeries, butchers and produce vendors. Truly gives you the flavor of the local culture.Written August 15, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Steve SNew York City, NY697 contributionsThe best time to go is Saturday morning.
Start with the parking lot on the end that has temporary vendors, and then go into the actual market.
If you see something you like you need to haggle/bargain for it, because if they think you are a tourist the price will be way too high to start with.
I have had good luck finding some cool ceramics out here, but I know what im looking for also I don't buy Herend which the market is filled with.
Good luck!
PS. easy to get out here on the #54 or #55 bus.Written March 6, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I picked up some unique jewellery but there is all sorts of things for sale. One of the stall-holders told me that they (and some others) are there more often than just the advertised market days, so you may be able to try your luck on another day if you can’t make it when the markets are officially on.Written November 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JnVSydneyGreater Sydney, Australia26,867 contributionsLocated just down the road fro where we were staying is this medium sized mall, which has more of a covered market feel about it than the malls we are use to, it had all the usual suspects as well as a food court, all in all very handy Whilst we were in the area.Written April 26, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
