A special birthday treat and what a treat it was! Had the tasting menu with wine pairings and it was amazing. Lovely place, lovely staff, amazing food.

This square has many monuments and statuary in a very large and open surrounding. The county hall, which is directly on this square, is a lovely building with huge artworks on the outside of the top floor. You can really feel the use of the square many years ago as it served as the marketplace for farmers to sell their wares.

During my short visit to Siofok I've been walking around to see the water tower however due to other things got there after it was closed to visiting.
Nonetheless it is a landmark of the city that I've seen only from the outside, still interesting - I do recommend when you are in Siofok do a better planning than I did so you could get to the top of the tower and enjoy the panoramic views, I hope I can do it during my next visit.

This park was near the place we stayed in and we liked it a lot! The fawn statue was very cute! And the dog statue was nice as well. Also there's a special track for walking barefoot, playground, botanical garden and even a bridge to hang ribbons with written wishes. Very beautiful.

Lots to see in and around the square. The church is worth looking into as there are some amazing painted ceilings. The square is a busy place all day and into the night! Well worth a visit.

Right in the middle of the old city is Kiraly Utca. It is a relatively straight street with gorgeous painted buildings on either side. Different types of architectures adorn the buildings and are certainly worth a healthy peeking!

Wonderful landscape, good foo, tasty wines and friendly people. It's definitely worth a visit of at least three days but preferably more.

We simply LOVED old town. The narrow streets, numerous family owned shops and restaurants, and laid back vibe are reminiscent of other small European villages. One thing that sets this old town apart from others is the obvious joy you feel from the locals. They are so happy to be able to offer their goods and services after so many years of cultural suppression from the old regime. You will also love the fact that the exchange rate really works in your favor as a shopping tourist. The goods available here are high quality and VERY reasonably priced. Take the time to spend a few hours here and you will not be disappointed!

Impressive view even on a cloudy morning. We went around it and found nice places you can drink some coffee or just eat a cake.

It was a great experience returning back here after lots of years. It’s one of the most famous and beautiful castle of eastern Hungary. You can see it on the back of 500 HUF banknote. The foundations of Rakoczi castle were laid around 1530. The Red Tower was the first building. It has a rich history with some famous owners. Rákóczi family used to live here, too. There is an exhibition about their life and history of Sárospatak in 17-18. century. You can walk from the bus- or railway station (about 20 minutes), but there’s a free car-park in Szent Erzsébet street. We enjoyed the visit, it’s worth to see it. It's a must-see attraction.

We went on the shorter — 45-minute — tour of the “City under the City” (in Hungarian, but tours in English are equally available). It was one of the most fun experiences ever in Eger!

The focus was on the history of the city, the region and Hungary, presented as time travel. Our guide was excellent! He was clear in his explanations, all was presented in a logical and easy-to-follow structure, with a wonderful touch of humour, and in a most pleasant tone. It was most enjoyable!

We enjoyed every moment of the tour. Warmly recommended to visitors of all ages (for kids too!)!

Shoes that symbolize the suffering of Jews and other anti-Nazis in WW2. They are made of metal and many of them contain flowers left by tourists and residents.

Great idea of interactive exhibit but instructions on how it operates are vague. It implies you can control the trains from any station yet they only can be "summoned" with the nearest button. The trains themselves though are pieces of art on their own. Worth the time to get off the highway.
