There is a Natural History Museum in the same building (separate entry fee), there are old cases of rather tired stuffed fauna but there are also excellent contemporary educational presentations.

If you like puppets, whether you remember the old European puppet shows or not, you will enjoy seeing some very odd marionettes, many based on fairy tales, and folk stories.
We got the all inclusive ticket to the castle which offers admission to the puppetry museum and we were surprised to find out that it was one of the most interesting things we saw in Ljubljana.
