Views were amazing. Took the local bus from Ljubljana, 1 hour. Went on the land train around the lake and went on a pletna to the island. Had about 45 minutes in the island before our return. Had coffee and Bled cake at the Art cafe which was scrumptious.

my most beautiful, longest and most challenging walk in the mountains so far. But the views were worth it! Triglav National Park and all its mountains are really beautiful and everyone can find a way :)

Superb view over the lake. Nice hike, quite steep at times, to reach the viewpoint, but a rewarding experience and the opportunity to escape from the crowd.

We were desperate to get to the island as we had photographed it from all round the lake. The closest row boat hire was closed so we cycled to town and rowed all the way back to the island. Took 30 mins each way so we had 30 mins on the island for a cuppa. Did not pay the extra charge for the church and tower. The place was overcrowded with tourist partys as the electric boats brought them over. Heavens opened on way back, got soaked but pleased we had made it. Row boat was €25 for 1.5hrs.

We walked to the Ljubljana Bus Station on Saturday and bought cheap weekend bus tickets to Bled for the next day Sunday. I think we paid 2 Euros each 1-way. When we rode the bus from Bled back to Ljubljana, the driver charged us 1.60 Euro each (it was cheaper). We also bought the Bled Castle entrance tickets at the Ljubljana bus station for about 17 Euros each, because I didn't want to deal with possible lines. Rain was expected at 2 PM that Sunday, so we knew we wouldn't have much time. If you intend to go to Bled Castle first, the last bus station (Bled) is closer than the penultimate station, Union (which also leads to the lake). And being Seniors unwilling to trek up the mountain, we paid 5 Euros each on the spot to the ladies in the shop by Bled Bus Station to drive us up to Bled Castle. Thank God we did! It was so much easier to walk down from the castle to the lake (look at the pathway photo attached). Yes, the view of Lake Bled from the castle is like a dream.

Visited in April and were lucky to have wall to wall sunshine. The hike up is pretty steep and rocky (especially the last 5 mins of the hike before reaching the viewpoint). However, the view is absolutely stunning. As we travelled in April, it wasn't too busy, but I imagine it can get pretty packed up there in the height of summer. I could have sat and stared at the view all day.

The Church of Mother of God, Pilgrimage Church of Assumption of Mary, or Our Lady of the Lake are all names given to this church. Church on island in Lake Bled. History can be traced back to the 11th to 8th century BC for this island. There have been several churches on this island suffering earthquakes and fires. Many people go there to ring the bell and make a wish. Can get to the island by Pletna boat, row
boat, or walk across the ice when the lake freezes. They do charge for entry into the church plus you must pay for boat transportation.

Went for a short tour with my wife and 7 year old boy.
We enjoyed the information on the bees and see the hives.

    Honey tasting was great too.

Value for money and really an interesting experience.

The summer toboggan was very fun and the view of the lake and the mountains was very beautiful. The chair lift was really slow.

Zoo has a lot of different snakes, spiders, frogs and so on. Our kids loved it, especially the oportunity to pet a snake. Lady working there was really nice and helpfull.

From Rudno polje - The very nice trip takes about 4 to 5 hours for middle experienced people, having good mountain shoes and in good walking condition. Worth to do it!
