And the driver pick us up from Krakow was very kind and experience female driver too. When we got back to Warsaw by train , Agnieszka was at the platform to pick us up and send us one by one to the hotel. Quick response and very good service. - Keira K2 contributionsExcellent tour with pick up and drop off service! Communication prior to was also well planned and had no trouble with contacting the operator. The tour is a great way to see two major landmarks in one day. It is a long day so definitely get lunch included otherwise you’ll be struggling to find something. The tour started in Warsaw with some visit on the spots of the Ghetto and then continues to Treblinka. She answered to all my questions in a very kind and prepared way. Joanna met us in Łódź she was very professional and very sweet, she had done research to help find family heritage churches and stores! - MFB20 contributionsMartin is as good a tour guide as you can get. Honestly, if I was going back I’d call ahead and request him. I was already in Lublin instead of Warsaw, which is the normal starting point. He had no problem meeting me in Lublin and picking me up.
As far as the tour itself, there probably isn’t a question you’ll think of that he won’t be able to answer. People tell me I’m good with history, but I’m not close to Martin’s level. I also learned about the impact that WW2 and the Holocaust had (and continues to have) on the relationship between Germany and Poland. We finished with a very pleasant lunch at an excellent restaurant. Agnieszka answered all the questions. Our driver, Maciej, was more than just a driver - by the end of the trip we felt that we were old friends. He gave us lots of historical, cultural and economical insights, as well as shared various practical tips. The Auschwitz part was very informative and of course sad and shocking - but we felt that everyone need to learn about this tragic time in history. Overall, the tour was one of the best things we did in Poland. - John CChicago, IL164 contributionsWe were lucky enough to have Marcin as our tour guide today. He wasour guide the day before for wolfs lair. He is friendly professional, extremely knowledgeable on history and truly made our day a great experience. It was a nice relaxing day in the countryside walking through the open air museum seeing how a small villages starting in the 18th century lived and how they supported the aristocrats of Poland was a beautiful park And Palace of the family that was landowners of these villages. Our guide in Gdansk, Mickey was fantastic. Ver knowledgeable and made sure we maximized our time. Marlbork is a must see. From the initial meet and greet to hopping on the final train, the itinerary was seamless, thanks Tomasz.. we varied the itinerary a bit to fit in with our overall trip and this was easily accommodated by Tomasz.
The hotels varied a bit, but all were good. They were central so we walked a lot, but the public transport is easy to access and even I worked out how to pay easily.
The guides, of course, made the trip. They are all different, but all were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Thank you very much.
Poland is a very interesting place to visit and see, we would be happy to stay longer. It’s friendly and relaxed and feels very safe. Next time I would try to avoid arriving at Modlin airport as it is so far out, but that didn’t trouble our guide Jola who came to meet us.
The best city? Sorry, that’s just too hard.
