Came here with my partner on a weekend trip to Warsaw. We found this place (previously called Cryptex) on a blog about escape rooms, and booked the Catacombs room. We’ve done quite a few different escape rooms in different countries at this point, and I would say this game is in my top five. I’m really surprised by it not being higher in the TripAdvisor rankings. The puzzles were clever and original, the setting was really amazing and the story was great. The game master was really helpful, and she really added to the atmosphere of the rooms. We did the game in English, with no language issues (hints sounded pre-recorded, so potentially they’ve fixed translation issues mentioned by early reviewers). I do have one additional point – the room is 16+, and a review of it made me nervous that it would be scary (I’m a massive coward who will not do horror escape rooms), so we contacted the escape room and asked about this. They clarified what would be scary, and offered to do a less scary version, or remove the element that concerned me entirely. We went for the less scary version, and I’m really glad we did.
MILD SPOILER WARNING FOR WHAT IS SCARY:
There’s a live actor at the very end of the experience, which was a bit frightening. If you’re worried about this, talk to them. I had a great time, but was glad of the warning and that we chose a less scary version.
