We had the good fortune of being guided by our excellent Warsaw guide on an optional excursion as part of Trafalgar Tours' Best of Poland . She explained everything significant about the Versailles of Poland including the story of how the King's beloved French Queen disliked the original Italian design but was subsequently happy with the French design!
Can't forget how she had 16 pregnancies but only four children survived. So it's a love story somewhat like the Taj Mahal being built for a beloved Queen.
You go through 2 levels of wondrous paintings, portraits, sculptures and artefacts, ceiling frescoes, bedrooms and chambers for visiting dignitaries.
Then on to the grounds with the gardens in typical Hampton Court style .
Thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in the aristocratic lifestyle of the era.
Best done with a professional guide, just the audio guide I suspect, isn't adequate.

I so didn’t like the war tools-toys of planes, guns, tanks, cannons, helicopters, etc. outside. Glad I saw that horrible stuff first before I went inside to a very good museum. Please note, Modern and Contemporary art is not to be found here
    Busy with locals and tourists

The Polish National Opera is situated in the heart of the city, not too far from the old town. Once destroyed, but then rebuilt classic architecture building looks impressive. There are lot to see inside as well.

Very unique museum for rescued old neons explaining their history and also their role in Polish history. Museum is not very big but covers the subject very well. Not safe for lively small kids. The neons are not to be touched! They are fragile and some had dire warnings one to get electrocuted if touched. For adults and teens this is great! The location is a bit shady. But that increased the experience.

Interesting little museum focused on contemporary art.. and from what I could see not permanent exhibitions. We found it interesting and the exhibits also had English translations including English subtitles for some of the video installations.

Located along the Vistula and near the Warsaw University library, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw is in a convenient location. There is no permanent collection (at least when I went). We saw the exhibition of a neo-primitivist Ukrainian artist. The museum is essentially one large room. There is a nice bookstore in the front.

All depends on the exhibitions which change often. The staff of the museum is very friendly and helpful. We have seen a movie which was bizarre (to be expected in the contemporary art museum) and Janek Simon's exhibition which had some interesting parts: Nollywood (Nigerian movie industry) - idea of remaking Polish classic "Ashes and Diamonds" in the Hollywood convention, reflections on Polish maritime traditions and colonial ambitions from 1930-s.
There is a good restaurant in the building and if you like long walks, you can start there and walk towards the river and continue on Vistula Boulevards towards the Old Town making a long, diverse and satisfying day.

Fantastic exhibition made from scrap metal, the cars and the Film figures were wonderfully made no problem about getting into the cars or on the bikes. Also went up to the 33rd floor great views. The building was built late 50s early 60s by Stalin ( Russia)

Nice place to walk and see the sculptures. Free entry to sculpture park. Also the Krolikarnia Palace houses artworks in form of temporary exhibitions.

I enjoy this park and sculptures! These sculptures are not very big and attractive, but you cal always read interesting story about this sculpture on the sign (English and Polish as well). And these history are not connected, they are very different and topics are very different. As a big plus, there are a lot of trees and flowers in the park and you enjoy them too. Also, people are walking with their dogs and you can come wit your dog or play with stranger's dog too. Sometimes there are people drinking beer, but they are doing it quietly. Overall, I definitely recommend it to see once (better at autumn or spring).

To escape from the cold (or hot) weather, this is a fun immersive experience involving art, perspective, VR/AI. 11 rooms across 600m2 of interactive experiences. Tickets cost €38 for a family of four and we really enjoyed our visit!

We had planned to attend a Chopin concert while in Warsaw. There are lots of locations where these concerts are conducted, we selected the concert at the Museum, a short walk from our hotel. It was a truly memorable event for us.
