This is without doubt the best laid out and put together museum I’ve ever been to.

Well paced and a good balance of interactive and informative.

Audio guide was superb it started as you reached each section so you are able to go at your own pace so you can spend as much time as you want in each area.

If you come to Warsaw it’s definitely worth a visit!

This castle has an interesting history: the original has been destroyed but polish people wanted to rebuild it during communist era. The furniture are mostly original. Worth to visit.

Really cool exhibits and interior spaces in a historic building. Our guide Agnes was very informative, friendly and professional as she took us through the exhibits and led our tasting. Even if vodka is not your favorite beverage, this is a really interesting way to learn about Polish history and the role vodka plays in it, from the medieval ages through communism to the present day. The bar upstairs also had really creative and tasty cocktails at the conclusion of the tour. Highly recommended!

Excellent museum - great for kids as well as adults. Lots to see and do in a relatively small place.

The main indoor part of this museum is now closed pending it being relocated to a new building. So you won't see any of the indoor exhibits. BUT, the outdoor display area is open and completely free - you just walk through an open gate. It is still quite good with some tanks and artillery on display and LOTS of airplanes and helicopters. If you like WW2 and Cold War era military equipment there will be lots to interest you including things like Mi-24 helicopters and Mig fighters. Most display signs are also in English. Definitely worth a brief trip (very close to the main tourist area so you can walk to it from central Warsaw) especially given that it is free.

If you like doll houses then it might be interesting for you. I was only one person there and it was scary and creepy, I even gasped when I saw “the three sisters farmacy” Anyways I left after 15 min I hope I won’t have nightmares.

This museum is house on the site where the Gestapo HQ in Warsaw was in WWII.
On entrance, there's the opportunity to watch a 5-10 minute video documenting how the hq was used for torture and murder (if you ask the lady in the small ticket office, she will show the film in your language.)
The museum itself can be walked in 5 mins but if you have a real interest, read the signs and take time to imagine how terrifying a place it is, it can take you around an hour.
The cells are chained off but a very helpful assistant allowed us a closer look at some of the drawings and names etched helplessly into the plaster. We plan on researching these in the hope that some survived the war, but given its reputation, its sadly unlikely.
Shame about the school trips that drowned out some moment of contemplation. Not the fault of the venue and more pleased that future generations are learning that we should never forget.

Outstanding artifacts of everyday life - we thought we would be there for less than an hour, but were there much longer taking it all in. Small place but big lessons and memorable examples were taken away with us - explained so much and really gave a glimpse into life in the reality of living in this time. Growing up in the 70-80s in the United States and comparing the everyday to what it would have been like at this same time in Poland under the communist regime was really fascinating and thought-provoking. The apartment replica was a great feature, and one of the most memorable walls for us was the one about the "queues" during ration times. Also, here you are steps away from the MDM area at constitution place and this museum really helps you understand that location (architecture, symbols, etc.).

An excellent, informative and fun experience which includes the history of currency/ trading,a masive collection of Polish and international notes , spotting fake notes, the stock exchange and the opportunity to hold a bar of gold. Lots of interactive displays made it fun. The guides are very helpful though the security guard was keeping a very close eye on us and the gold bar! All this for free as well.
Note that one must go through airport style security before entering.
