This graphic monument carries special value for both Poles and tourists; it is the symbol of anti-fascist struggle worldwide. Even after waves of carnage and destruction, Warsaw still stands strong.

The Frederic Chopin Monument in Lazienski Park was originally built in 1926. It was destroyed by the Nazis, and rebuilt after the war. It's a nice place to walk.

Ghetto Heroes Square is adjacent to the excellent POLIN Museum of the History of the Polish Jews. The Ghetto Heroes Monument pays tribute to those who defended the ghetto during the Ghetto Uprising. The man in the center is Mordechaj Anielewicz, commander of the Jewish Combat Organization. (The nearby street was named after him.)

Another hero is Jan Karski, who documented what the Nazis were doing and passed that information to Britain and the U.S. His monument is nearby. There is also a marker for Irena Sendler, who saved many Jewish babies from the Warsaw Ghetto.

This monument pays homage to the fallen Polish soldiers in its long history of resistance and national struggle. The hourly change of guard is the main tourist draw. History fans will dig into the details of each war inscribed on the columns.

Powerful statue honoring the very young boys and girls who acted as scouts and messengers during the war and particularly during the bloody and destructive Warsaw uprising.
Children should never have to participate in war. Adults should never have to participate in war.

You cannot miss the Column, it is a touristic landmark in Warsaw, right in the middle of Castle Square. A very common meeting point for tourists at some moments during the day, could become easily very crowded area. Anyway there is plenty of room to catch a beautiful view over the Column. In winter time, there is also there a beautiful Christmas Tree. Not as tall as the Column, but still worth a stop by.

The Copernicus Monument is a tribute to one of Poland's most famous scientists. The monument also shows a model of his heliocentric system, with the sun in the centre and the planets orbiting it.

Very nice. It worth to stop by and listen Chopin music on the street. If you have enough time you can try to find all Chopin benches.

The only person to win two Nobel Prizes in different fields is rightly celebrated by this statue. She looks great and probably should be celebrated more worldwide.
It's a very pleasant park to wander through from the Old Town to the river.
Well worth having a relaxing walk to see.

Stefan Wyszynski was the archbishop of Warsaw from 1948 to 1981.

His statue is located in front of the Church of St. Joseph of the Visitationists. The statue was unveiled in 1987.

To many, he was the uncrowned king of Poland who opposed the Communist regime. He is also credited for the survival of Polish Christianity.

One of the more attractive of the many monuments along the Royal Route. This one honoring Prince Jozef Poniatowski, one of Poland's national heroes, has the leader astride a horse in a warlike pose with sword drawn. The statue sits in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace.

Must-see in Warsaw. A monument that commemorates heroes of Warsaw protecting the city during World War II. It is near the Old Town in a park. Careful, there are homeless and drunk people sleeping on benches and on the lawns, so it is best not to visit in the evening.
