I have been here many times through out the years and in the last 5 years it's become more and more tourist-friendly and kids-friendly.

I highly recommend going to the Malta lake area with kids - especially for kids between 2-12 years. After that age it might be a bit dull.

    In the area there is:
    - At least 2 good playgrounds
    - A few restautants/kiosks and a place that sells ice creams
    - Activities for the kids (that costs money for every ride).
    - A newly built area for bathing/swimming
    - The promenade is nice with nice views of the lake area

Don't expect it to be a big scale fun park area, as everything is a little scattered and still not too tourist friendly.
Nearby is the big shopping mall Posnania with a food court inside.

I would recommend getting to know a little about the history of the area beforehand so it's not just another recreational area to see. It makes it more interesting to visit in my opinion.

Beautiful park set in huge grounds, there are plenty of walks through tree lined paths.
In the middle of the park there is a military museum with lots of old vehicles on show. Tanks, planes and rockets etc.
Brilliant way to spend a couple of hours.

The facility was very nice and we enjoyed ourselves a lot. But coming out of the facility destroyed the experience a bit. We had bought whole day ticket so we could stay ad long as we wanted. We were not sure if Sauna was included since everthing there is in only Polish there. So I checked with my entrance band to the sauna and it showed green, so we thought it was included. But I did not go through the entrance bar to sauna anyways since my husband saw a picture of bathing suit with red line on it, and I did not want to go to sauna just with towel around me. When I wanted ti get out of the facility with my entrance band, it would not allow me. So the receptionist asked med to go to her and she checked my band and said I had used the sauna and I had to pay to be able to get out. I explained what happened and I said I would pay anyways since I did not understand how their system worked. So it was not the payment that botheres me since it was not much. It was her disbeleif and her lack of acknowledgment that perhaps their system was misleading that bothered me 😤

It's a large palm house at the end of the park. Features plants from different warm ecosystems which make it very entertaining for all ages. Be mindful of the cacti cause sometimes they are on the path. Special recommendation to visit during winter to feel a little bit of vacation vibes

It's about a 15 minute walk from the Old Market Square to Ostrow Tumski (Cathedral Island) with stops along the way to take photos of the Street Art l came across. A very peaceful place to visit and a break from tourist area of Stray Rynek which also offers so much of Poznan history. First thing you notice is Porta Posnania skywalk bridge between the exhibition buildings. Statue of John Paul ll, half built church of the Virgin Mary, cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, Archdiocese Museum.

Crossing over the Jordan Bridge (red) you can take a beautiful photo of the cathedral in the background from this point. A short walk on the righthand side you will come across "Green Symphony" street art. Further on lefthand side you will come across the stunning 3D the A Srodka Tale Mural which not to be missed. Srodka offers so many photo opportunities plus a place to have something to eat and drink.

Absolutely stunning spot, WELL WORTH A VISIT...SO many paths to explore...The variety is amazing....Give yourself a few hours as so much to do.Sit on one of the many seats and admire the plants. THE ALPINE AREA, is just magnificent , so many quirky paths in that area..We got a taxi / Uber there as out of main tourist area, so cheap on Uber, saved our energy to walk in the park

The old zoo in the centre of town is a must-do when traveling with small KIDS.
Kids up to approx. 10 years I would say.

Entry is free but every entry inside the zoo costs money. Toilets are for free - the standard not too good but does the job.

Inside the old zoo there is 2 playground areas and there is the possibility of driving a mini-jeep or climbing ropes and the sorts in the summer months. This costs money though and the opening hours is approx. 10 AM - 18 PM. I am unsure about the opening hours.
Besides the playgrounds there is places where you can eat lunch/take away food (french fries, hamburgers, sausages etc.) and get an ice-cream, coffee etc.

It is not because of the amount of big exotic animals that I recommend this. What makes it good is, besides the playgrounds, that there is still some animals to visit and the area is beautiful with tall old trees and park-like surroundings, and it is a piece of history. You can see the old beautiful cages, there is small info with pictures of how it used to look and what animals were kept in those cages.

And it is a plus that it is in the middle of the city centre so you can get there very easily, it is located in a nice area of Poznan with lots of cafees, restaurants, shops and nice buildings with old beautiful trees.

We did a day-trip out of it by first taking the light-rail (which is fun in itself if you live in a place where there is no light-rails), then being in the zoo for 2-3 hours, then finding a nice place to eat in the surrounding area.

I recommend these places to eat in the area (but there is A LOT more to choose from):
    - La Nina (mexican food)
    - Pod Niebiosa (really good burgers)

A small lake in the center of Poznan surrounded by forests. Perfect areas for walking, running, cycling, swimming abd relaxing. A comfortable path runs around the lake, and its numerous branches go in different directions deep into the forest. There are some dining options on the beach, some of them open even in winter. Beautiful lake, scenery and surroundings. One of the few such charming places to relax in Poznan. It is crowded in the season, but the real charm of this place can be discovered off-season.

Great park in Poznan. A beautiful place. Nice park with children's playground and bike paths, a lot of old trees, interestingly designed paths , many benches and of course ponds with ducks and swans that form the basis of this park and occupy its central part. A great place to relax almost in the center of the city. A charming place in Poznan, it is worth going for a walk. I recommend visiting.

Woodrow Wilson Park is a great place for jogging. The perfect location of the park makes it a good place to rest while exploring Poznań on hot summer days.

If you have some free time and a bike, make sure you come to this part of the town to indulge yourself in beautiful scenery. The view from the observation deck is breath taking!

Wandering around this area of the city my twin brother Stephen and I walked through Mickiewicz Park and what a beautiful park this is.
Well kept garden area's ,bench seating which is great to rest up and take in the lovely views of the fountain and the historic Grand Theatre Poznan ,one of the most famous theatre's in the city ,it's a park to most definitely to check out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Uluca Aleksandra Fredry.

It is about 15 km from the center of Poznan to the church in Kiekrz taking the hiking trails around Rusalka and Solacki lakes. The trail is also suitable for cyclists. I walked.

From Rusalka the whole route is well marked (green sign). The trail goes through beautiful nature mainly through forest and along lakesides. Only the very last bit near Kiekrz the trail becomes uncomfortable: loose sand, no shade, construction work going on. I saw some cyclists getting stuck, but overall it is doable also by bike. From the church in Kiekrz there is a dirt road to Kiekrz lake. Cars using it cause a lot of dust, but the distance is rather short (less than 10 minutes on foot).

From Kiekrz kosciol (church) there are frequent buses to Ogrody tram station in Poznan. Make sure you have a public transportation access card as many of these buses do not accept cash.

Located behind the beautiful Jesuit College and St Stanislaus Church is Frederic Chopin Park,a hidden gem of a park I chanced upon as I was exploring around this area of the city.
Named in honour of world famous Polish composer Chopin who visited Poznan in 1828 ,it's a beautiful oasis of calm amidst the hustle and bustle of this area of Poznan, well kept garden area's,lots of trees ,interesting features and nice pathways to walk around the park ,from the park you have stunning views of the Jesuit College and St Stanislaus Church ,it's most definitely a park to check out if you're planning on visiting this cute city.
