What travelers are saying
- Richard HDublin, Ireland208 contributionsThis appears to be the heart of Łódź. Good choice of restaurants and a very large shopping centre. Easy to get to with public transport (download jakdojade app for transit info and to buy tickets).Written December 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JIM D7 contributionsEvery type of shop you could wish for, we walked down one side then back up the other side, took most of the day including lunch then dinner and lots of shopping. Excellent.Written January 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JIM D7 contributionsThe place to go to get away from the city for a while. - Ravana GWarsaw, Poland15 contributionsThis is a place where you can feel relaxing from very first step done. You can listen your steps - it is so much calm and you feel like at home. The place was build by Karol Schreiber one of the most popular industrialists in 📍Łodz.
The pace has it’s own small railway station, hospital, bank, pharmacy, stores, groceries and many restaurants and pubs. I can recommend Czech 🇨🇿 restaurant “Cesky film” and “Browar Ksiązy Młyn” 🍺Written November 26, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - allakhv2 contributionsQuite an interesting place to visit. I liked all the rooms, animation floor was very nice and rich in experiences. The only thing that I would be expecting is opportunity to buy a poster or some other souvenirs related to cinema production.Written November 21, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Karen LDerby, UK109 contributionsIf you walk to fast you might miss this street...we nearly did! The mirror mosiac is so intricate and detailed. I suffer with cataracts so this was amazing through my eyes and I would like to return and see it again when my cataracts have been removed :DWritten March 6, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jezebel IIIWroclaw, Poland9 contributionsIt feels haunting pretty but its also sad knowing the history of Lodz jewish community. I like to take a walk here to read the names.Written August 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ravana GWarsaw, Poland15 contributionsKarol Schreiber - one of the largest Łódź manufacturers built Księży Młyn📍- a factory - residential complex, a kind of city in the city. Consists of planned, architecturally structured factory buildings, housing estates, owner residences and villas with gardens, as well as streets and railway 🚃 sidings, school 🏫, two hospitals 🏥, fire bridge , shops and a factory club. Currently the area includes lofts, industrial zone, Herbst Palace- Museum, Book Museum, art studios, restaurants and cafes. Park Źródliska is just 5 minutes by walk🙂
The most heartbroken for me was the death of Edward and Matylda Herbst’s daughter - Anna Marie in her 9 years. The picture with bedroom belongs to her. Later parents will build the biggest in Poland hospital that take care of poor families’ children under name of their daughter “Anna Marie”Written November 26, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The exterior renovations are almost done (garden was still closed for us) and there is still more work to be done on main level - but what a treat that it was reopened when we were visiting. You can tour the rooms of where Karol Poznanski lived with his family - bed chambers, dressing rooms, drawing rooms etc and witness the life of a man who was extremely pivotal to the industrial rise of Łódź. A Jewish magnate, Poznanski would eventually see his empire fall prey to the Nazis. But this ‘home’ - really a Palace - is a great example of what Łódź used to be and how much money there was in the city at one time when it was a huge economic hub for Poland and Europe (late 19th early 20th century) and its rapid growth and industrialization. There is *also* a great museum in the basement that shows you up close and personal what life was like in Łódź - when Polish, German and Jewish families lived side by side until the situation became a nightmare. Worth visiting! A little disorganized and ramshackle but they are getting it together and pouring massive funds into restoring architectural gems throughout Łódź- it’s artsy, gritty and very cool to visit.Written August 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pawel_hbgSopot, Poland9,701 contributionsThe Radegast Station during the World War II was transformed into a station used to deliver food and industrial materials to the ghetto. The station’s building standing to this day was built in 1941 and in the same year the station became the final point of trains transporting Jews from western European countries and provincial ghettos from Wartheland.
Currently the Station is under the care of the Museum of Independence Traditions and it is a must to see when you are in Lodz.Written October 26, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Martin SEmmerthal26 contributionsGood to see, if you like planetarium: You can join the introductions to the planet in several kind of projection. For example winter sky; Sky about Lodz ect.
Additional they offer the music presentation of famous group in the planetarium. Unfortunate I did joint Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of The Moon , but it must be good fun to be there during the movie.Written January 8, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I adore watching the details of someone’s life from the past: tableware, clothes, furniture, details used in personal offices.
Also, they have there a couple of rooms with Rubinstein’s personal belongings, the Oscar statuette and a place where a classic historical movie about Lódź’s manufactures in the very end of XIX century was shoot.
A great place for nerds like me! 🤓Written April 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
