A fun hour at the museum of soap and dirt. Our guide spoke amazing English and was very enthusiastic about his work. Very interesting tour and we loved making our own soaps

Beautiful, ornate and intimate, the Cathedral of Bydgoszcz impresses those willing to enter the heavy doors. The colour pallette is unusual and striking.

A fascinating place, with skeletal buildings scattered through pine forest and well worth doing a tour. Private exploration is discouraged

A bit off the beaten track from the center and the old town. However, you can easily walk or drive to it. Interesting construction. Quite an interesting style. Most interestingly, it is probably the largest dome in Poland. In terms of size, the basilica is also quite large. If someone is especially from abroad or is interested in the culture of today's Poland. It is also worth going to mass there.

For clarification this museum is known as the 'Polish Land Forces Museum'. It holds relics related to the history of the army from the Middle Ages, through the wars of the 17th century, national uprisings, battles for borders in 1918-1921, World War II, to the participation of Polish soldiers in peace and stabilization missions around the world.

Most of the objects are housed inside a typical large 2 floor symmetrical square communist building although you will find plenty of military hardware outside the front such as tanks, mobile missile platforms and guns of various calibres. It is very easy to reach via the main tram and bus network, only taking about 10 minutes on the tram if travelling from the city centre.

You enter through the front, and are lead into a large hall to the right which is fairly empty, but with various information banners provided in Polish and English which explain the development of the museum from its foundation to the present day (I think they also use this room for events). One can see the museum is no longer static, but holds more events such as modeler gatherings, historical re-enactment and an active campaign of collection.

The main part of the museum is upstairs across the entire second floor with many objects held in large glass display cases, some even as part of large dioramas. The organisation is laid out logically, from the beginning of the polish state, through to the present day's involvement with NATO and peacekeeping operations. Information text is provided in English and Polish. There is a lot to see here, from day to day infantry equipment, uniforms of armoured divisions, ration kits, shell casings, light guns etc. I spent the majority of my time at this museum on this floor.

You come down the stairs again on the other side of the building to the last room, which is used as a temporary exhibition space, which when I visited was about the development of Polish light machine guns during the inter-war periods and second world war. Quite specific and interesting.

The museum does not have a lot of interactives. There a couple of touch screen desks as you go round, but do not expect lots of large flashy projections, which are typical of more modernist museums today. Then again I quite like this museums layout and approach. I spent about 2 hours having a look round, and thought it well worth the visit, particularly if interested in military history.

In terms of accessibility and facilities there was a chairlift to the 2nd floor, and seating was present in each exhibition space. Toilets are in the small basement downstairs, and were kept very clean. There is also a small shop with showcase of products in the entrance lobby with the ticket desk. When I visited entrance was free but the shop closed with only security present - they were friendly.

Highly recommend this place, easy enough to get to on the tram, does seem like you’re walking to the middle of nowhere but its easy enough to find,
Wasn’t expecting such a big selection of games, great for the price!! Make sure to take your student card as that gets you discount.
All in all, fab thing to go whilst in krakow.

The Opera Nova is always the centerpiece of each year's Camerimage film festival, a festival which just completed its 26th edition last week. Camerimage is considered, especially in the world of cinematography, to be one of the world's most important film festivals. The Opera Nova is located across the bridge from the market square of Bydgoszcz. The Opera was built in 2008, and although not the most "impressive" of buildings, it is a very welcoming home of the festival. Many local high school students serve as volunteers at the Opera (and at other venues at the week long festival), and they do a great job directing and helping the very international attendees navigate their way to the many film screenings. Their knowledge of the English language, and of film was very impressive. They really are great representatives of the festival! I saw so many powerful films this year....I can not wait to come back to Opera Nova next year.

I believe ,with its spire, this remains the tallest building in Bydgoszcz to this day. Approaching from the old town past the Covered Market,it is an imposing edifice that belies a slightly underwhelming interior.

A very cool place to have fun in a slightly different way. A bit more intellectual entertainment, a bit more puzzles - you can forget about the whole world, especially when you run out of time to leave the room. A couple of the puzzles surprised me and it's not the first escape room I've been to.

I've played 50+ escape rooms all over the world and the "Freakshow" room is my absolute favourite. Totally immersive, challenging (but not impossible) puzzles and an incredible amount of fun. Excellent.

We were in Bydgoszcz this week and wanted to try out an Escape Room. We had heard about escape rooms before but just never got around to trying one out and so we didn't know what to expect. After asking around, “Legenda Miecza” was the one recommended so we decided to give it a try. First off I was pleased that the instructions were available in both Polish and English. I am from Canada and don't speak Polish so the English instructions was a must. My family went with me and the 3 of us had a fantastic time. We didn’t know what to expect and actually thought it wasn't going to be that difficult. We were pleasantly surprised at how challenging it was and that it required the brain power from the 3 of us. We were stuck a number of times and welcomed the hints we were given from time-to-time. There was a lot of creativity put into this escape room which explains why it was rated high by other people. We were constantly surprised at the imagination put into the riddles you had to solve. I would definitely recommend this escape room and wish we had a few more days in Bydgoszcz so we could do it again. I heard they are planning more rooms so this will give us a reason to come back to Bydgoszcz.
