- David RWirral, UK334 contributions2 miles north of city past Philharmonic and football stadium. Bus 52 used for return cheaper than taxi. Get off at Zoo which is pretty small and cheap. One hour for two elderly walkers.
Vast area for walkers joggers etc with lake and restraunts kiosk bars? probably open in the summer but not in March. Scenic and flattish and HUGE area. Plenty of wildlife and noisey swans. The building is huge and has great interior potential.
At the moment there is a small entry fee for the history section and some of the building is free to enter, including the viewing platform that gives some great views.
Unlike many museums, there is English translation on the most (if not all) of the exhibits. The information covers a wide range of subjects - water and its historical, current and future importance (trade, sport, canals, eco-system etc), including the River Brda; the significance of the parks and gardens; tango and cinematography; WWI and WWII; Solidarity; music... you get the picture! There is a cafe and a picnic area too.

It is arranged in a very lovely way with the focus on Polish fauna. The entrance fee is nominal and there are discounts for groups and children. It is a good place to learn about the whole variety of Polish animals and birds. Miniterrarium is a newer addition. There are also a small section with more exotic animals. The place has an outdoor cafe with refreshments.

With the completion of the new large Botanical Garden in Myslecinek this park initially lost its importance but now again is treasured as a little nature jewel in the city. It is located close to the main campus of the Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz. In 1995 it got the status of Comprehensive Natural Monument .It is a very interesting little nook of the city and the visit is highly recommended . Come here to stroll and rest during the walking tour of Bydgoszcz.
