Bydgoszcz was initially given the perhaps correct opinion that it was not very pretty. The last time I was there was at least 5 years ago, if not more. Now I'm back and I'm quite positively surprised. A lot has changed. This attraction still amazes me and makes me reflect positively on the balance of our lives, fun and responsibility. How fragile it is.

Statue dedicated to Marian Adam Rejewski- Polish mathematician and cryptologist who in late 1932 reconstructed the sight-unseen German military Enigma cipher machine, aided by limited documents obtained by French military intelligence. Over the next nearly seven years, Rejewski and fellow mathematician-cryptologists Jerzy Różycki and Henryk Zygalski developed and used techniques and equipment to decrypt the German machine ciphers. They made it even the Germans introduced modifications to their equipment and encryption procedures.
This work has big influence in order to defeat German during World War II.

The statue is just outside the old town square and is perfectly poised capturing a lot of sunshine. There a few benches out the front which when we visited were full of locals. The statue itself is well crafted and impressive in scale

The sculpture of three mythical Graces since 1989 creates eye pleasing accent along the river. They are visible from the Mostowa street bridge. They are located on the lovely Stary Port - Old Harbor street. The three women appear relaxed, joyful, graceful and casual. See it in passing as it was intended.

The Archer Lady Statue is one of the symbols of Bydgoszcz. It is located in the Jan Kochanowski Park in the vicinity of the Polish Theatre and the Pomeranian Philharmonic. The sculpture was designed by Ferdinand Lepcke and was unveiled on the 18th of October 1910 and used to change its location several times.

While in the Old Town Square of Bydgoszcz at 13:15 and 21:15, Master Twardowski will appear. One has to look up at the second floor of a building near Jatki Street - Across from King Fu Fusion Resteraunt.

I saw this monument once. He had very bad grades. I don't know why or for what reason. It reminds us of sad times, the fight for Polish independence during World War II and the tragedy of shooting some of Bydgoszcz's citizens by the Nazis. Now that the square has been restored, the monument has been moved slightly. He is no longer the dominant force of this place. He finally got the right grades from people. It's worth reflecting.

This simple monument or a fancy marker rather - is on Mill Island. 18th meridian east passes through the Old Market in Bydgoszcz and you can follow from there to Mennica vicinity in Bydgoszcz Venice - as it used to be called - on Mill Island. Bydgoszcz shares its longitude with Stockholm and Cape town.

Monument dedicated to Leon Barciszewski- the most famous mayor of Bydgoszcz. He did not want to rule, but to serve the city. His work was interrupted by the outbreak of World War II, and his life was brutally executed because he was a Pole.

We encountered this truly lovely, relatively recent sculpture on the bank of Brda river at the gates to Old City Bydgoszcz. The statue depicts and commemorates a Hungarian cartographer Ferenc Czaki. Explanation is provided in Polish , Hungarian and English. This sculpture is very eye catching and enchanting. Take a notice especially that Czaki's research helped future creation of Bydgoszcz Canal in 18th century.

Freedom Monument is a monument commemorating both the fallen Soviet and Polish soldiers who fought during the liberation of the city in January 1945, and the return of Bydgoszcz to Poland on 20 January 1920.
