The City Square (Rynek) is the heart of the city. This is where major events, nightlife, restaurants, hotels are concentrated. The area lives 24/7, having even more people at night than during day. This means it might not be a great idea to sleep in an apartment adjacent directly to the main square, it's simply too noisy at night. Perfect for evening out tho.

Apparently you buy a guide in the town square that has maps of the locations around the city and along the riverside.
We just took the amateur route a took photographs of the ones we came across during our visit. It’s a great way to see the city and would be a great adventure for children.
There are gnomes / dwarfs on every street in various locations and poses, definitely a fun factor during walking the streets of Wrocław.

    This was a great zoo.
Lots of variety and well kept animals.
The signs were mainly in Polish but enough english so we knew what was what.

This is the most magical place I've seen so far, especially at night. It's worth waiting for a Lamplighter, such a unique experience.

Thoroughly enjoyed my recent visit here!

The panorama is a 114x15m painting of the 1794 Battle of Raclawice. It is set out in a circular fashion and is viewed from the centre. The lighting and artificial terrain give an almost 3D effect.
There is a commentary in Polish over the public address system and for those who don't speak Polish, there are audio guides available in different languages.
The commentary talks you through the various aspects of the battle and takes about 30 minutes. A highly recommended attraction if you are interested in history.

One of the joys of visiting Wrocław is the amazing Old Town of the city .
It's a wonderful compact Old Town, architecture here is amazing ,if the Old Town feels slightly Germanic in look its because that up until 1945 it was actually called Breslau and was the nearest German city east of Berlin, with the stroke of a pen and the changing of a borderline at the Potsdam Conference of 1945 this city became Polish and renamed Wroclaw, some of the finest structures here are so beautiful including Wrocław Town Hall, St Mary Magdalene ,St Elizabeth,Corpus Christi Church, St Dorothea and many other beautiful building, Old Town Square ( Rynek ) is a joy to visit, lots of pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants and it's busy, in fact day or night it's just a wonderful area of this cute Polish city to chill out in if you're planning a holiday to Wrocław.

Wroclaw Town Hall is without a shadow of a doubt the most beautiful building in Wroclaw.
If the architecture looks familiar and if you've seen some of the great town hall buildings in Germany that survived World War Two it's because up until 1945 this city was part of Germany and called Breslau and this town hall was known as Breslauer Rathaus but with the stroke of a pen and the changing of a borderline at the Potsdam Conference of 1945 Breslau became Wroclaw and Polish .
Wroclaw Town Hall ( Stary Ratusz ) developed over 250 years from the 13th century until the 16th century and is an amazing example of Gothic architecture, the facade is awesome, the clock with its sun motif is stunning, it's just an amazing piece of architecture that is most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday to Wrocław and easy to locate on the Old Market Square,my twin brother and I viewed it every day and night on our five nights holiday in this cute little Polish city, loved it ,can't wait to see it again when we're next here.

I wasn't initially aware that there was an entry fee for the gardens (30zl), and almost didn't go in. However, I am so glad that I did as the gardens are stunning and so peaceful.

An added attraction is the on-site aquarium with an interesting variety of tropical fish on display.

A wonderful way to while away an hour or two!

Cool place for spending an hour on a hot day. Water and music in harmony. Visited during the day and it was worth the trip… I suspect the evening light show would be amazing.

Without a shadow of a doubt this cathedral is not just the most beautiful cathedral in Wrocław but in my opinion the most beautiful cathedral in Poland.
The Cathedral Of St John The Baptist was constructed between 1272-1341 and is one of the best examples of Gothic architecture in Wrocław, its twin towers soar an impressive 98 metres into the air ,the facade is fabulous and the interior is a work of art ,its a stunning cathedral but what needs to be remembered was that during World War Two and the brutal Battle Of Breslau 70% of this cathedral was destroyed, from 1951 onwards this cathedral has been painstakingly reconstructed and what we see today is testament to the skill of the work force that gave us back this stunning cathedral to admire ,if you're planning a holiday to Wrocław its most definitely well worth checking out if you're near Cathedral Island and easy to locate on Plac Katedralna.

I love visiting the cute Polish city of Wroclaw, its such a wonderful and compact city packed with pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants and some amazing architecture, one of the most beautiful set of buildings here are the university buildings.
Starting off at Plac Uniwersytecki you have great views of the main university building, architecture is amazing ,each building is a joy to view ,very photogenic, you can purchase tickets to view the university buildings, its most definitely well worth checking out the university buildings if you're planning a holiday to this beautiful city on the River Oder.

Up,out and about on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning, my twin brother and I decided to head over to Cathedral Island, we explored some of the smaller islands such as Sand Island then we crossed over one of the prettiest bridges in Wrocław namely Tumski Bridge.
I've viewed this bridge many times over the years it's a beautiful piece of engineering, the views of the River Odra ( River Oder ) are superb, what I loved about viewing the bridge now is that all the silly so called love locks have now been removed from the bridge, the damage these locks do to bridges they are attached to is really bad, they are so corrosive, when they fall into the river they further pollute the river ,the bridge looks as good as new now ,its most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area near Cathedral Island.

These are worth a visit whilst visiting the big park which it is in. The gardens aren't very big but there are some nice photo opportunities and the lake in the middle has some really big Koi Karp.
Afterwards you can go and enjoy the lake and the old Centennial Hall

The River Odra ( River Oder ) is the River that flows through and around the beautiful and cute little Polish city of Wroclaw, the River Odra is the second longest River that flows through Poland, The River Vistula is the longest river in Poland ,the River Odra is 840 kilometres in length and rises in the Czech Republic and runs through Poland and Germany, it ultimately runs into the Szczecin Lagoon and empties into the Bay Of Pomerania of the Baltic Sea ,in Wroclaw the River Odra is great to view especially from the various islands such as Bielarska Island, Sand Island and of course Cathedral Island which are all linked by pretty bridges ,a great way to enjoy the River Odra is to take one of the many river cruises on offer ,all in all its a great river to check out if you're planning a holiday to Wrocław.

One of the landmark buildings in the cute little Polish city of Wroclaw is St Mary Magdalene Church, a church I never get tired of viewing.
This church was constructed in from 15th century, a wonderful example of Gothic & Romanesque style architecture, during World War Two the church was severely damaged but between 1947-1953 was painstakingly rebuilt from original designs, the church interior is superb with so many beautiful features but to me the views afforded from the very impressive towers are awesome, the little bridge that connects the towers is known as Mostel Czarownik ( Witches Bridge ) ,there's a couples of cute Wrocław Dwarfs up here ,all in all its a great church to check out if you're planning a holiday to Wrocław.
