- KEI1 contributionOur guide, Andrzej, was very experienced and knowledgeable. He picked us up from our hotel and explained the city to us in the car. He also told us historical stories.
The castle was smaller than we had imagined, but very beautiful.
The castle has three architectural styles: baroque, neo-renaissance and gothic.
It is well worth a visit.
Our guide Andrzej explained the history of the castle in great detail and answered any trivial questions we had. I was really glad that we had a private tour.

お城は想像していたより小さかったですが、とてもきれいでした。
お城はバロック、ネオルネッサンス、ゴシックの3つの建築様式があるそうです。
一見の価値ありです。

- obsoperatorBergen County, New Jersey6,391 contributionsI was hesitant to book a car and driver in Wroclaw using Trip Advisor. But at least the name Viator was familiar to me. Viator was pretty transparent about the actual provider of the private excursion, so I tried to book it directly with the real provider. But their website only had “Church of Peace Świdnica and Some Dull Nazi Bunker” (!!) and I wanted “[BOTH] Churches of Peace, in Świdnica and Jawor”, the latter being only on Viator’s menu. When I confirmed (as advised to) with the provider, I said I would have preferred to book directly with them and give them all the money. They said, in effect, “Yeah, we know it’s not all on our own website.”
Our driver was on time (9AM at the Doubletree by Hilton), cheerful, well-informed, and knew the area very well. Our huge 8-passenger minivan was very comfortable for 2. It turns out that the site (but not the church!) in Jawor is much smaller than in Świdnica, and does not have toilets. When I asked, the ticket lady gave me a paper flyer for a pub about 200’ away. They did not mind our arrival at all, and besides volunteering 4 Zl. for the toilet use, I bought a 3 Zl. 33ml draft beer. When I told the driver about the beer, he did not think that anyone had 3 Zl. beers anymore!
Each church was superb in its own way, and I am very glad to have seen both. The photos of the Nazi bunker looked very bare and missable. However, there is also a pairing of one church and a castle/mansion that might appeal to other visitors. Because of miserable highway traffic and rubbernecking of an accident in the other divided-highway direction, we did not get back to our hotel until 2 PM, an hour late. (No charge for that, of course.)
Because I made a rookie mistake in my Trip Advisor booking, I had to use the interface’s options to Change Pickup Point and Change Tour Date. I was far enough in advance that I was told There Will Be No Charge For This Change. That was a really good internet experience! Our guide was really great! Vlad explained everything to us and brought us closer to the dwarfs.
Although some in our group speak very little English, we have understood him wonderfully.
VLAD had a really great passion for the dwarves. He gave us this passion.

- Jo CSingapore, Singapore47 contributionsThe ride out took around 2 hours. The trip was worth every cent as the rocks were fantastic. The crowd was rather crowded as we were there during the summer holidays. There were human jams around the narrower and steeper areas of the trail. The tour brought us on the tourist walking trail which was good to showcase the main sights of the park. The entire park is much larger and there is another entrance on the side side of the park, which would have been nice to explore if we had the time.
I like that the guide was very considerate of each person’s fitness levels. The trail is fairly even with some steps. I didn’t find it strenuous but there were some who did. The guide was nice enough to check if everyone was alright from time to time and point them in the direction of the exit wherever possible. At the end of the trail, we took a walk around the lake. That took another 30min and it was great. We didn’t have all the time to see Cathedral Island as my family decided to spend their time shopping.
The Panorama of the Battle of some place was amazing and is highly recommend.
