This gorge is close to Zakopane center and hardly affected by mass tourism. Good for a walk on a rainy day when hiking higher up is not possible.

This is quite long, not very challenging but satisfying walk. There is a few trails to the top, and few options to go down. View from the top unforgettable.

Beautiful valley, though in comparison with the Koscieliska and Chocholowska valleys rather short and for this reason 'less developed'. You can easily reach the valley at its northern end from the main road in Jaszczurówka (bus 11 is stopping here). The green marked trail runs through the valley and provides access to Wielki Kopieniec (1328m). From there you can either return to the main road at the village of Cyrhla or continue southward all the way to Morskie Oko.

The lower part of Olczyska is perhaps more interesting (very well maintained path almost like a city park) as the forest in the upper part is regrettably rather affected by a beetle plague caused by unprofessional forest management in the past.

This pass at 1725m is one of the most frequented by hikers from nearby Zakopane, as it is on the way to popular Giewont mountain. The blue trail from Kuznice (park entry) to Giewont meets the yellow trail down into the Malej Laki valley. Less well known is a red trail that branches off to Dolina Strazyska a bit further up Giewont. This trail is more exposed and at least at one instance you have to scramble of rocks a bit. However, I found it one of the most scenic trails in the Western Tatras. Well worth the extra time.

At 1311m between Strazyska and Malej Laki valleys, this pass in the forest is an important crossover for hikers. A red trail to mount Giewont also starts here (up to the summit - two hours). In my experience the latter trail is one of the spectacular ones in the Western Tatras. Saw quite a few Tatra chamois on the higher slopes just above the tree line, but also the rocky outcrops and vegetation are fascinating.
