- Robert DBrooklyn, New York4,738 contributionsI took the funicular up Gubalowska Mountain. There were some nice views, but the haze prevented me from getting a spectacular photo. For the best experience, go on a clear day.Written October 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- George WSammamish, WA8 contributionsWe went for a ski event our daughter was participating in. I recommend ordering tickets on the website ahead of time. We tried the day of on Sunday and there were no tickets available until after the event was completed.
The ride does not take long between the 2 stations. They do have 2 cafeterias at the top. I am thinking in the summer, there would be some nice hiking from there.Written April 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is opposite to the market and the Gubalowka.Written December 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I loved it as much as my 4 yr old. 5 turns for 55 Zolty which could be spread between a family. Great value for money.Written September 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kristīne S23 contributionsWe reached the peak in about 3h, for the view to be worth the climb you have to start as early as possible, mabey 6:00 in the morning or the peak will be packed with people. We reached top at around 11:00 and had to wait about 20 min in line to climb down.
For the climb to be more interesting i recomend to come down on red trail, this trail will be a bit easier on your knees coming down as well. When you get to the end there will be 12th bus, that will take you to Zakopane centre.Written August 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Well maintained, with many nicely crafted tombstones (most of them are from wood). It is worth one visit. However now you have to pay an entrance fee, which I think is pricey compered to how small the cemetery is.Written December 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - endrju_74Ipswich, UK4,837 contributionsWe already visited Wielka Krokiew few years back, we even writen review here on TripAdvisor, but due to some works being done to the jumping hill back then, it wasn't a full experience. In september 2019 we did go back to Wielka Krokiew, and this time we saw everything, at least we think so. Lots of changes happened in the meantime around those facilities, with a main one - the whole complex has been fenced out, so now there's only one way in, on the axis of the jumping hill, straight from Czecha/Piłsudskiego streets junction. Ther are gates that put many people off, but those are open for anyone, unless there's an event going on on jumping hill stadium, then it is with tickets only. So, we did go in, and first we went to see a small exhibition on life and career of Stanisław Marusarz, Polish ski jumper, having peak of his career in the thirties of 20th century - Wielka Krokiew ski jumoing hill is named after him. After visiting this small museum, we went to the bottom station of ski lift (tickets) to the top of the jumping hill, passing a place, where one can get into a large inflated tube and slight down the super steep landing part of the hill. Three different lengths of the slide are available, all of them not for fainthearted. Nothing for me. Ski lift has only been in use since 2008, which means before that all athletes had to walk to the top of the hill - I can't even imagine, how exhausted they were, before even taking their part in the competitions. Short ride on the lift, and then, here we are, we on top of the ski jumping hill Wielka Krokiew, with amazing views over the whole town. Absolutelly worth a visit, prices are not so high, and the view is superb. If only they organised things a little, on their premises within new fence, such as put some signposts to direct people to those two obiects: museum and ski lift, and above all - put signs "open" on those gates at the front, so people would know they can go in.Written April 2, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
