- TAK6 contributionsA great experience where you can learn about the various Polish regional cheeses, the history, production methods and ingredients. You will meet an actual “Baca” (Chief Shepherd) who introduces the traditions, folklore and beliefs of the Polish Górale (mountain folk) that have lived in the Zakopane region for many generations. The presentation ends with participants making their own little piece of Oscypek cheese. In the end, take a photo in regional dress with Baca! Well worth the 1.5 hours!!Written May 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- CTP9913 contributionsWe visited Zakopane on a day trip from Krakow in early October and looked at getting the cable car up the mountain. Uncertain what day we were actually going, we did not book the cable car in advance....this is a must really as when we finally got there after a 2 hour coach ride and a 40 minute walk through the town, we found a massive queue and waited the best part of 2 1/2 hours in the queue with no guarantee that we would actually get up the mountain. The area is well served with food and drink outlets, so in relays (not losing space in the queue, we were fed, watered and used the amenities. However we were fortunate and once on the cable car, which is very quick, efficient and modern with each car holding about 60 people, had a fabulous visit and the view from the top was amazing, with mist rolling in across the mountains. Well worth the very long day...just pre-book if possible.Written December 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nikola MinaříkováCzech Republic104 contributionsGreat place to visit. Gubalowka has nice views. You can go by cable car or can hike or just walk. There are many souvenir and food shops. Here you can find, for example, sheeps products. The prices are great. You can visit and feed the alpacas.Written March 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- pawel_hbgSopot, Poland9,940 contributionsGiewont mountain is one of main popular in Polish Tatra mountains. Personally I like other places more as this is quite busy trail. I reccommend getting up early and starting climbing with sunrise.Written September 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Patricia K3 contributionsSuch a quirky graveyard and each one so individual and unusual. Superb carvings and ornamental adornments to all giving each a true meaning presumably to the person buried below. Not your usual boring slab style for sure.Written March 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- endrju_74Ipswich, UK4,851 contributionsWe already visited Wielka Krokiew few years back, we even writen review here on TripAdvisor, but due to some works being done to the jumping hill back then, it wasn't a full experience. In september 2019 we did go back to Wielka Krokiew, and this time we saw everything, at least we think so. Lots of changes happened in the meantime around those facilities, with a main one - the whole complex has been fenced out, so now there's only one way in, on the axis of the jumping hill, straight from Czecha/Piłsudskiego streets junction. Ther are gates that put many people off, but those are open for anyone, unless there's an event going on on jumping hill stadium, then it is with tickets only. So, we did go in, and first we went to see a small exhibition on life and career of Stanisław Marusarz, Polish ski jumper, having peak of his career in the thirties of 20th century - Wielka Krokiew ski jumoing hill is named after him. After visiting this small museum, we went to the bottom station of ski lift (tickets) to the top of the jumping hill, passing a place, where one can get into a large inflated tube and slight down the super steep landing part of the hill. Three different lengths of the slide are available, all of them not for fainthearted. Nothing for me. Ski lift has only been in use since 2008, which means before that all athletes had to walk to the top of the hill - I can't even imagine, how exhausted they were, before even taking their part in the competitions. Short ride on the lift, and then, here we are, we on top of the ski jumping hill Wielka Krokiew, with amazing views over the whole town. Absolutelly worth a visit, prices are not so high, and the view is superb. If only they organised things a little, on their premises within new fence, such as put some signposts to direct people to those two obiects: museum and ski lift, and above all - put signs "open" on those gates at the front, so people would know they can go in.Written April 2, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - historyboy28Whitehaven, UK178 contributionsNice little chapel, but we didn't see it at its best, on a winter afternoon with the light fading, but the snow made it special. Some carved work inside.Written December 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
