It's a miss-mash of different "add on" chapels built through time between the 14th century and now. - HCovikAtlanta, GA3,299 contributionsGiven all the upheaval in Krakow over the centuries I am surprised this church still stands there after almost 1000 years. It's one of the oldest stone churches in Poland. It stands at the south-eastern corner of the huge Market Square and most people entering the square via Grodzka Street will likely not even notice it, being fixated on the huge square instead. People don't realize that this church preceded the Square by nearly a century. As the area surrounding the church has been repaved multiple times, the floor of the church now lays well below street level.
The inside of the church feels a bit cramped. It's still in use and entrance is free. The inside is by far not as opulent of many of the other churches, but still worth a visit. The waitress, her nam like the lost Princess Anastasia, chose all the dishes. I am used to do that. She chose wonderfull dishes and surprised my with delicious food. She helped me superbly.

The guide, Kris, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He's an archeologist as well as a native of Krakow so had all sorts of interesting details and facts to share.
