Visited for the first time in decades with a group of friends and stayed just off the Square, but also tried a number of the bars and restaurants. The central hall has a number of stalls selling local specialities (and tourist tat!) so you may need to be selective. The bars around are a little more expensive than the norm but not outrageously so as in some other cities - they are busy until early morning but have to bring outside drinkers in before midnight. Our previous visit had been pre-Easter when there was a fantastic Easter market with much better quality homemade items on sale. The one downside at night is the sheer number of touts approaching you to go to hidden bars or adult entertainment but these are easily brushed off - although it could do with some local authority assessment

A very thorough explanation of what evolved as the Nazis invaded Poland and started their gruesome campaign. Many photographs and displays with explanations, almost too hard to take in with the crowds. We were a small group with a guide, but also hard to absorb the detailed story. But a sobering reminder of what evil can develop when lies layer on lies…

You do not need to visit all sections of the castle to get the feel of the castle. A superb GPS enabled audio responds to your location to tell you about your surroundings. A good description of the courtyard tells you a lot about Polish history and we did the State Rooms tour which was really intersting but I am sure other regiosn would be too if you are a castle freak.
Wawel Recovered was a little disappointing.

The Old Town of Krakow is sensational.

Start at the northern point with the Barbican and St Florian's Gate, wander down Ulica Florianska, arrive at the Old Market Square (with incredible buildings such as the Cloth Hall, St. Mary's Basilica and the Town Hall Tower), then continue south along Ulica Grodzka (with the Church of St Peter and St Paul, the Church of St Martin, the Church of St Andrew and the Church of St Giles and much much more) and finish off at Wawel Castle & Cathedral.

Every time I moved in this basilica, I set up a prayer to bless the people who have to maintain and clean all of these artifacts. It’s really sensory overload. But the story behind the basilica is extremely interesting and it is extremely ornate.

Get your tickets from across the way from the entrance. Super inexpensive.

A very lively restored area of the former Jewish quarter in Krakow. Note that most of the restaurants billing themselves as Jewish are not actually kosher nor Jewish

Central point of the main square, but populated by a mix of stalls selling local speciality artefacts, e.g. costumes and amber, to a range of tourist tat. There may be restrictions due to the square being surrounded by bars and restaurants, but some genuine local fast food stalls might be a beneficial addition

We had a tour of the workshop and museum with Zofia, who was very knowledgeable and her passion for the work they do was infectious. It was very interesting to learn about the history of the company, and the process they follow with their projects big and small. We then participated in the workshop with Paulina, who showed us how to make our own stain glass creations. She was very patient with us, especially when our skill ran out and she had to save one of our designs from disaster. Overall, a great experience, and very special to participate in something that's been part of Krakow's history for so many years.

Easy to reach by tram/bus from city centre.

Huge, modern building... well kept, clean...

Plenty of planes (&related material)✈🛩🚁💺🪂 to see (some planes, helicopters ... however look more than wrecks 🤗, especially those parked outside/airplane graveyard).

Recommend to visit this museum, but improvements should be made!! Mostly "Polish only", some explanations in English, but for example the part "women pilots" was sadly not translated ....only Polish 🙊

However the "warning signs"/what not do do ("climbing the exhibits and touching the propellers") are in Polish, but also in English, and even in Ukrainian and German?! 🤣

Please do some efforts concerning more translations (English).

If you love pinball and vintage gaming in general you will love this place!! Would recommend getting the day pass as time really does fly by. Such a great array of games and a super chilled atmosphere. Small cafe at the top of the stairs too (not by the same place) which was useful for a break. I would definitely come here again next time I'm in Krakow.

Wawel Cathedral is iconic to Krakow. It's a hike up there, but if I can do it, you can too. We didn't tour the Castle, just the Cathedral. The view is great. There is a Commemorative Coin as with most European Cathedrals.

Very atmospheric with a series of chairs representing the number of jews initially moved to this area and then removed by the Nazis. A small display about the youth resistance is at the southerly end towards the river, with the pharmacy owned by a gentile who set out to save people at the other. Tram stop next to the parc, and ready for walking to the Schindler factory or the tour taking in the prehistoric mound and the wartime labour camp later used as the onsite setting for the Schindlers List film
