Amazing place, good to see the old region where people working in mines lived.
No hogh buildings with "red windows", specific and unique wall decorations and climatic restaurant.

If You have a chance to visit the place - You should definitely do it and enjoy both beauty of the building and its interior as well as acoustics which are definitely one of the best in Europe! It's very popular and busy - so tickets for major events are selling quickly. You should look for them in advance!

I also recommend visiting this place from the inside (e.g. during an event, because it is not open every day). Very well organized. I always have very good memories of the events organized there (often at very affordable prices). There is also a large ice rink at the back, which I like to visit.

We wanted to take a day train trip from Krakow and, having looked at the InterCity timetable, decided on Katowice (about an hour away). So glad we did, what a lovely city centre and wonderful Galeria for shopping. However, the highlight for us was the Museum of the History of Katowice. The middle floor has fascinating examples of middle class and upper class apartments from the 1900s. We were given information sheets in English, as a tour guide wasn’t available. The top floor has the history of Katowice itself with interesting exhibits and information provided in both Polish and English. About a mile from the train station, very quiet when we visited. You are requested to leave backpacks in the cloakroom. Would definitely recommend if you are visiting this lovely city.

The best place to visit on any occasion! Great atmosphere, impressive collection and lots of interesting information. Mister Leszek takes real care to entertain his guests. He's really passionate about music and made my boyfriend want to start to play again.

Located in a historical building, formerly the liveliest part of the local mine. Now exhibiting thought-provoking and hugely interesting art. Make sure to go up the stairs too and see some of the amazing paintings of the local genious Erwin Sówka.

A little bit hesitated I decided to go to Giszowiec after I visited Nikiszowiec. Actually I think you should go here as well. By bus it is a short distance and it is interesting to see the differences. Giszowiec is a very nice example of garden city architecture and you can easily stroll around. There is also supposed to be a cool sort of abandoned watertower but I had no time to see it. A big surprise was the visit to the community center in one of the old buildings in the parc in the heart of fhe neighborhood. A private tour by Angie who was very enthusiastic and energetic and who knew a lot was really nice and interesting. You see an old silezian kitchen some interested paintings about life in Giszowiec in the past and the former community house (still in use). Really nice to see. And by bus 672 (if im correct) you have from Giszowiec direct connection to the central station.

An outstanding museum of Polish history and militia war presented in phenomenal way. Totality interactive, very informative and heart breaking. The brave 9 miners which lost their lives in 1981 never forgotten. Would highly recommend when visiting Katowice. All staff were very welcoming and gave full information of the museum. Keep up good work!

Atmospheric memorial commemorating those who took part in the Silesian Uprisings of 1919, 1920, and 1921. The backdrop depending on where you are facing is the UFO-like Spodek arena. Otherworldly feeling vibe.
