I took a taxi from Scandic hotel to the airport, and the hotel booked a taxi for me. It so happened to be a taxi from Gold taxi. I had SPECIFIED that I wanted to pay by card. Actually, I said i HAD TO be able to pay by card. When the driver got to the hotel, I asked him about paying by card. He said that it was ok.
After driving a few minutes (while the driver was texting!), the driver all of a sudden discovered that the bank terminal was out of power. "So sorry"!. So, we had to withdraw money from the ATM. He didn't use a meter at all, but the fare was going to cost 87 zloty! Way too much, as we payed 54 when we went from the airport to the hotel! Oh, and on the receipt, he wrote 80 zloty, and I payed him 90!
This is really disappointing, especially since the hotel booked our taxi. I contacted the hotel, and fortunately they took the matter seriously.
They contacted the taxi company, and the taxi company agreed to refund me the money for the fare. That's very good, but things like this shouldn't happen.
Of course, I asked for a receipt from the driver, and I took a picture of the car and the license plate. I sent this to the hotel and the taxi company.
So thank you Gold taxi, for refunding me - but drivers like ours, shouldn' be allowed to work for you. They seriously damage your reputation. And even though I am very happy that you have responded like this, I will NEVER take one of your taxis again.
