Photographs show how it used to be found and there are some fine examples of different types of amber, depending upon the region. The decorative uses of Amber are also displayed, as are the products from Amber factories.

As other have mentioned, this is a relatively small collection but the beautiful building alone makes it worth the trip. The museum did a nice job of providing descriptions in English to help get a sense of why some of these pieces are special to Gdansk.
I especially enjoyed the room with ceramics and the room with various medieval alter pieces.

Although the air temperature rose a few degrees inside the Abbots Palace we didn't exactly get a warm welcome. It was cheap to get in but the girl on the desk was frostier than the ground outside and all the gallery staff followed us around as though were about to fill our bags with art off the walls.
